How can West Ham justify this?

Home supporter ticket prices for their match against Arsenal. In a tax payer subsidised stadium in a division awash with cash. The kids prices are absolutely scandalous in my opinion.

    Hope they get relegated.

Was talking to a West Ham fan on tube on way home from Brentford and he said his season ticket cost £279.00 which is cheaper than my East Stand ticket!

Would think their policy is similar to ours, get as many season ticket sales as possible and any pay on the day is a bonus.

    It's crazy ..... agreed ...... flip side

Like us a bit. ST list has a 55,000 waiting list!
Kids STs were £99 this season.

I agree the MatchDay price is horrendous tho. And if they keep banning 200 fans after every match they mite have to
    revue them.

Edit - when I say like us I mean the disparagy between ST an MatchDay prices

Can't fault the season ticket price in fairness. But I'm sure there'll be the same proportion of long-term Hammers fans who can only attend a few games each season due to work rotas etc. I don't think our policy at Barnsley is right, as much as I get the "business" argument behind it.

Another club seemingly happy to sell it's soul in the pursuit of being a big 'brand' and attracting the right sort of customers, sorry fans. Following the likes of Arsenal and Cardiff City, West Ham have now got themselves a shiny new stadium and desire a new type of fan who will better suit their changing image. The problem is, unlike Arsenal, West Ham probably have one of the most working class, 'old school' sets of fans in England. As a result you have the kind of scenes we have witnessed recently, with supporters turning on one another with regard to standing/sitting/old fans/new fans etc. Throw in a stadium totally unfit for football without any proper segregation, no provision for seperate concourses and entrances nor adequate policing and you end up with the handbags against Chelsea.

Interestingly the cheap season tickets have back fired to an extent. Any Tom Dick or Harry down Kent/Essex/East London has jumped on the bandwagon. So in amongst proper West Ham fans you have many who are either neutrals, fans of other clubs or idiots spoiling for a fight. Quite a mess.

    They probably justify it through........

    1) Them having really good value season tickets for top flight football.

    2) A 55,000 waiting list for tickets meaning someone somewhere will always pay the silly prices.

    3) Increased policing costs from the minority that have spoilt so many games already for them this season.
