See first, second and third generation migrants I know live and get on with people. And people get on with them. I like celebrating some of their traditions and experiencing their food every now and then. But day to day we just do normal everday stuff. Go to the pub, cinema, comedy club, PS4.

Which is all back to my point that the only people who are telling you you can't celebrate British culture is the right wing media. What are you being stopped from doing right now?

Brexit is con... Its all about divide and rule, the old establishment trick

David Davies as already said that in-between now and coming out, (which no doubt we will appear too) That every law pasted by EU will become British law, And any British law that some way contradicts EU law, then EU law will be held higher..

Couple that with Britain being lead into a EU army... a packed with Poland as just been signed for us to send troops there..(History would suggest that's not the greatest of moves for both sides)
Then to follow the EU central Bank..To directly tax to pay for it, and that's it, People can stamp there feet and vote whatever they want.. its too late

Troops in Poland is to do with NATO, not Europe.

I think you've got hold of the wrong end of the stick with the first part too....the cut and paste suggestion is purely a sensible interim measure that gives continuity and guarantees for the short to medium
term . The vast bulk of laws are not unreasonable and it saves the Govt. a lot of time and effort drafting new replacements.

It was Giselle Stuart, a Labour MP who made up that lie for the Brexit campaign.

Seeing as about half of the EU and NATO were on opposing sides until the late 80s/early 90s then neither of those views is strictly correct. However, am fairly sure that the idea of an EU army was another fabrication in the run-up to the referendum.

Yes but what Gisela Stuart said was something like 'We send £350,000,000 per week to the EU and I'd rather control how we spent it. If it was up to me we'd spend it on the NHS'.

No promises, no pledges. After all how can a Labour MP pledge or promise anything on behalf of the Tory government.

Except it was plastered on the side of a ****ing bus in big ******* letters?

Must have been very tiny text saying "hey, this is only a suggestion by Gisela".

It was on the side of a bus, so what? Anybody who believed it was a manifesto type promise was very naive indeed. Most people understood the point being made.

Bang on. What kind of fool would take a big sign with the words "let's give our NHS the £350m the EU takes every week" at face value? Clearly been some misunderstanding they had no intention of misleading anyone!!

Oh come on Mario! I didn't believe it for a second, I would not trust any of the shithouses in charge of Vote Leave with a 10p mix let alone the future of the country but not everyone is as interested as me or you might be! It was clearly an attempt to sway voters as let's face whom could disagree with the sentiment?!

Oh come on. They were warned about it, they were warned about the actual figure do I doubt many people gave the headline too much credence. The point may have been a little frivolous but nobody ever said that it was a manifesto commitment that the NHS would get £350 million extra a week. Every knows how politics works so why are some people so incensed by something that happens all the time.

Boris should hopefully be facing prosecution for that one in the near future. Hopefully the punishment will include ineligibility for public office. Lying hypocrit.

Exactly, it was a frivolous headline to sway public opinion. Politicians do it all the time, it happened on both sides in the EU referendum. I honestly don't know anybody who actually believed it. They agreed with the point being made but not necessarily the sincerity. Seriously, who believes anything a politician says.

That would set a precedent that could see most MPs in prison.

To be fair it wasn't through headline, it was the fact it was an entirely incorrect figure. One they were told to stop repeating by the Electoral commission yet continued to do so. That's a step beyond

Osborne was told by the Treasury not to use his £4300 worse off figure for every family in the UK , he continued to use it until Andrew Marr exposed him in the interview .

I said exactly the same in post #113 . I don't dispute the inaccuracy of the figure; what I don't believe is that many people voted to leave based on a blind belief that the NHS would suddenly be £350 million better off every week. Lies were told on both sides, that is just what politicians do. Most people that I know read between the political lines.

To be fair Nato did keep the peace , but as you say several countries were in The Warsaw Pact , so it would also be fair to say The Warsaw Pact equally kept the peace .
As to the EU Army , I'm not sure why you think this is a fabrication ,

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-37359196

Juncker is clear along with most EU bigwigs that this will be happening and is actually beginning now . Cameron himself said in the referendum campaign that Britain had an opt out for UK troops on the plan .
