No one criticises you for living abroad. I've done it myself in the past. What they criticise is your startling near sighted hypocrisy in how you view other people who want to do the same thing.
By pompous do you mean informed? I realise being informed isn't very popular in the post-truth climate
You really haven't got a clue. I moved legally with sufficient funds to finance my lifestyle choice. That is not the same as illegally entering a country without any means of self support. I do not include genuine refugees in that Surely even you can distinguish between the two!!
I've read the article twice now in full. I gave you the respect that I thought I might have missed something - what with the article being so biased and difficult to read. Perhaps there was something enlightening somewhere in the depths of the article I'd missed the first time through. However - no - by pompous I mean the usual brand of self-important, overbearing, pretentious, conceited, egotistical, supercilious, condescending diatribe the Guardian typically rattles out. But those who chose to be informed by like thinking people saying the same type of thing they want to hear - rather than some unpleasant but unfortunately hard truths - well they'll simply keep hearing what they want to hear. and reading what they want to read. But facing reality isn't popular in the climate where people think they can whinge whine and moan and go all maungy and spit their dummy out until they get their own way.
Thanks for reading it. I think The Guardian long reads are brilliant. Often done by very different contributors and on very diverse topics. I try and read a range of stuff and aim to question stuff I agree with as much as stuff I don't. But political correctness gone mad is the most meaningless nonsense phrase in the world usually invoked when people want to be generally unpleasant and don't understand why other people don't want to join in. Or have believed some fake news story they've read that never happened.
You completely lack self knowledge. In your world white comparatively wealthy immigrants are fine. Those with darker skin and poorer not so much. You cannot see this part of your nature dispute various people pointing it out to you. The logical explanation you outline above would have you in favour of the free movement of labour. This competes with the more rabid side of your nature which you attempt to hide but often come our in your Britain First style postings. Your choice of the word 'genuine' illuminating as you are the moral arbiter of what you perceive to be genuine. Starkly and answer this honestly if you can. A young fit employable 20 year old Refugee who is likely to work for 30 plus years contributing taxes etc or you who is more likely to drain resources. As usual you resort to insults to back up your shaky arguments which cheapens and demeans you and shows exactly what you are.
I normally avoid political posts like the plague: A) because I'm genuinely not qualified to discuss the detail of political debates B) because I don't ally myself to a particular political belief set I've quoted your point above, as this seems to have been overlooked in recent political debate, especially around Brexit and nationalism. I do fear the far right parties, as much as fear the far left. Any extreme is unbalanced and not representative of the masses. However, there seems to be a lot of debate about the uneducated masses determining the future of our country, particularly in relation to Brexit. The point seems to be constantly overlooked, that successive governments, be it Tory or Labour, have failed to 'educate' these millions of people, which has led to a backlash against mainstream politics recently. And by educate, I mean actual school education. The system keeps failing these people, not just in Britain, but in the US, and in parts of Europe. Political leaders have to wake up quickly. The root cause needs to be addressed, by someone, rather than simply dismissing these millions of people as an uneducated underclass. **** knows how, and this post may be a load of old ballax, but this is my 'uneducated' political contribution to the BBS for the next 5 years. Increase the peace. Mike.
Blimey, Benito, read your stuff back, think you'll find you're the one with acute anger issues. I'll fall short of calling you a racist, but I will accuse you of bigotry...and a boring tw&t.
This is exactly what I mean with my previous posts. The people in the debate just go on and on and on, with no end in sight, until eventually they just fall out with each other. Neither of you is going to change the other's view, even if you debated for 100 years. We're all supposedly reds fans, why fall out with each other about tedious boring stuff none of us can influence or control? How you or anyone else can enjoy this sort of stuff is totally beyond me.
And if perchance I have offended think but this and all is mended: We'd as well be 10 minutes back in time, for all the chance you'll change your mind
Had to read that 20 times before I understood it. Why can't people write in plain English? Anyway hope you enjoyed your holiday.....
Totally agree and I've oft suggested that these type of threads should have their own dedicated section.
I think Britain First have loads of websites for this sort of stuff not sure it has a place on a football website especially as the person starting them rarely discusses football and probably attended Oakwell last in 1842.
you've accused him of spouting racist bile and now the britain first sh ite, where exactly has he said anything about race and colour.jimmy its you that brought colour into it not him.
Look through his posts. He's a serial offender. Like I said everything in its place. This is meant to be a football site with an occasional foray into politics where it impacts us. Not post after post about immigration. When you post time after time about race, immigration and nationalism but never about football on a football site there's summat wrong with you. Someone, not me cos I couldn't be arsed, looked up the posts he had submitted I think about 80 percent were about immigrants. Also summat wrong with an immigrant who hates immigrants but that's a whole different issue. I'm no believer in an open door for immigration there are loads of problems associated with it and can understand why people are concerned about it but wrapping your prejudices up in what you believe to be pseudo intellectual claptrap doesn't disguise them. I'm not the first to suggest that Garnett Tyke posts on Britain first rather than on a football site and I wont be the last.
i simply asked where he'd said it.so,where did he mention colour? suggestions are nothing ,its usually people miss interpreting other people opinions to suit their own ends. nobody has to read any political posts and probably most dont,
Well if I may there's a certain tyke fan on here that posts most if not all of his post about footy and the ***** that he takes on here is not justified really. It's all about letting people have there own opinions, the way they see things , bigotry takes all sorts of forms and some of the lefty libs on here are just as bad. Have a debate , make your point then **** off Htfh
