Having looked at PS4 bundle deals on Cyber Monday I went with Zaavi. £209 for PS4, with FIFA 17, and Call Of Duty bundle, with Unchartered 4 as a bonus extra. All in stock. Wasn't right ar5ed about the latter but it was only £9 extra. Last Thursday Unchartered 4 arrived but no console. Really useful that, a game but no console. Still no word of the PS4 and other games being dispatched by Saturday so I emailed them (no phone number is available). They replied on Monday to say it would be dispatched today or tomorrow. Wednesday they emailed to say they haven't been able to source the console and games and were cancelling the order. Problem being Cyber Monday has passed and all alternative bundle deals are now £50 more expensive leaving me out of pocket due to their error. SO I checked on line and they have PS4 in stock, FIFA 17 in stock but no Call of Duty. So I emailed pointing this out, blah blah blah unacceptable, I'll take the PS4, FIFA and an alternative game or want to make a formal complaint. 10 minutes later I get an auto email to say the original order and games have been dispatched and will be delivered today or tomorrow by Yodel. Yodel tracking shows its at their depot awaiting delivery. Result. Then I get an email today saying sorry but they can't dispatch items individually, only if it is in a bundle box, and have therefore still cancelled the order and will refund me. Welcome to Schrodinger's PS4, that is simultaneously dispatched and cancelled.
My mate ordered from Zavvi on black Friday too, he went with the COD'less package for about £15 less than yours. I think it turned up Monday this week which weren't too bad. Not the best of companies aren't Zavvi. So did yours end up turning up then?
Dunno. One email says it will be here today. Yodel tracking says tomorrow. And another says it's been cancelled. If it doesn't turn up they'll be getting an email pointing out that I really don't care that 'all bundles are pre packed and we can not have the order sent out as individual items', and I expect them to be all delivered individually if they've run out of bundles. Alternatively I expect an alternative bundle for the same price I paid on Cyber Monday given they told me it was in stock and I could have got equivalent deals elsewhere for the same price which are no longer available due to their error.
Someone I work with had the same trouble with Amazon not so long ago. She ordered a certain PS4 bundle for whatever the price was. They told her it had been sent. The day later they told her that her order had been cancelled as they'd sold out and that particular bundle was discontinued. Eventually after much complaining, they gave her a different PS4 bundle, the 2 extra games from the original bundle, and £50 off. She got something silly like a PS4 and 4 games for £150. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
Find a small independent games shop. Go in. Tell the bloke what you want. See if he can do you a deal. More than likely they will. Buy it. Pay a few quid more than zavvi and amazon. Dont have the stress of dealing with **** house cystomer services. Keep local shops in business.
They don't have to honour your purchase. Given that you're probably not going to shop with them again they'll probably just cut their losses and tell you to get stuffed. Yodel tracking numbers don't generate themselves though (usually, though Yodel are absolute dogshit), so I'd guess your purchase is with them and there's been a crossed wire at Zavvi's end.
Cheers mate. Guessed that I probably don't have a leg to stand on but I'm going to be flippin awkward. My hopes are pinned on the fact that Yodel must have a package for it to be on their tracking system and showing as being at their depot. God knows what might be in it though...
Literally just arrived! CoD bundle, FIFA 17 separate. Now, if a refund lands as well the moral quandary begins...
