Int FA Vase. Expecting a record crowd against the Conference leaders. Been investigated regards a previous tie versus Nantwich. Suggestions that a banned player was used?!? Someone's up for the high jump if it's true. Should have been a right pay day with a complete all ticket sell out.
Been at work up there today and it was a tenner a ticket for Sunday so it would have been a big pay day for them.
I'm sorry but I can't understand the hatred towards Shaw Lane. I understand that their owner's a wednesday fan and don't expect people to start supporting them, but I cannot understand why people are so bitter just because they pay more to players. They're ambitious and trying to get further and surely there's nothing wrong with that? I don't support them: my non-league team is Stocksbridge who play in the same league. I'm sure Stocksbrige's budget is far less than Shaw Lane's but I don't have any resentment towards them just because they're trying to get higher in the pyramid. They're not the same type of club as Athersley or Penistone but in my view there's nothing wrong with what they're doing.
You must be the type of football fan who thinks it's ok for Newcastle to spend £60 million because of where they want to be.
Well if they've got the money they are within their rights to spend it. However I don't agree with the parachute payments they get which allows them to spend so much But what's wrong with ambition? Are all clubs meant to stagnate and spend as little money as possible. Because if that was the case brilliant stories of teams progressing up the ladder like Fleetwood, Burton, Crawley and AFC Wimbledon wouldn't have happened Anyway when we were in League One we were spending more than most teams. No one was complaining about that. No one was saying 'Shrewsbury spend loads less money than us, so we should limit our spending just for fairness'
