Re: Its not a big job.

You've been great with the entire process, but I thought I needed to get permission from "higher up" for the flag to go in the north stand. I therefore emailed thereds@barnsleyfc.co.uk with a request. I haven't had a reply, and in several years I've never had a reply to emails to that address.

I'm sure Fired will be able to sort it, I'll be in touch with her today. I'd do it myself bit I'm currently in the depths of the EU. Thanks again for your input.

I can assure you that there aren't tons of people stood hanging around on match day. Regardless, the flag does not belong to the club. It was paid for by fans. Lots of fans. It is the fans flag. The Club said it could be stored at the Club when necessary but that is all we can do I'm afraid, and even then we are taking more responsibility than we should. We were and still are more than happy to assist any fans who want to take charge of it on match day. You, Ian and others have my details. I am surprised that out of the many donors/fans who got this flag created that one or two can't get to the office half hour before the game to collect it and position it.

Feel free to contact me by email etc if any questions.

Slightly unrelated but you wouldn't happen to know (or be able to find out) what happened to the flags from our various trips to Wembley and Cardiff would you?

I may have completely imagined it but im sure I remember the club saying after either Cardiff or the fa cup semi final that the giant flag which was laid on the pitch was given to the club and that it would be put out on seats at oakwell but it was never seen from again.

By my reckoning we should have one from Cardiff and two from Wembley and together with the new flag they would look amazing completely covering the empty half of the west stand.

Absolutely no idea regards flags from 2006 or 2008, sorry.

The flag is 10 yards away from me. Again, if anyone wants to take charge of it, feel free to get in touch with me.

    Cheers.
