I knew which article that was going to be before I clicked it. It's okay though. If you're ambitious and you're not receiving parachute payments then those levels of debt are perfectly fine. Obviously.
I really hope they go tits up. I think Cardiff and Portsmouth are proof that such models of spending fake money are completely unsustainable for clubs of our size. It has come back to bite them, just as it will come back to bite Brighton, Bournemouth and others in the next five to ten years.
"Any Championship club without parachute payments wishing to compete for promotion will inevitably make significant losses," Says it all really. That shows why we should be grateful that we've got 3 or 4 of the best players in the Championship in our squad.
Who Says Cheats Never Prosper.... Not me Good example being Dele Ali. Oh and several clubs like Brighton and the best example of all; Leicester City. Most people have probably forgotten how Leicester went into administration and came out with all debts written off and a shiny new ground. It was that that prompted the League start deducting points when clubs go into admin to deter them from "doing a Leicester".
Re: Who Says Cheats Never Prosper.... Not me And yet everybody you speak to will happily say how good it is that Leicester won the league because they are a honourable club who did it the right way
They have got to be really careful next year as they need to bring that figure down £21 million or face financial action.
It's been a long time since we had a spine like that. Proper talented and committed players. If we could keep them for just two more years, build around them using some of the stones and Mawson money then we really could be looking at something special. Think we're only 2 or 3 players or equal quality to those 4 and we'll be pushing the right end of the table.
You're right. Problem is though, will we be able to keep them? Winnall & Hourihane are like any other player in the modern game. The lure of big money will always win over..... unfortunately.
Think we'll lose Conor. But I suppose provided Morsy and Bradshaw are ready to replace them (or we have a few cracking signings lined up) then we'll be OK and keep a very strong spine. Conor is the lynchpin. If we could somehow convince the best player in the championship so far this season then not only would it convince others to sign, but if we sold him we could be talking huge transfer fee in a year or two.
Re: Who Says Cheats Never Prosper.... Not me Horrible club it was a shame Spurs couldn't win the league, especially after all Pochettino has done for English football and the right way as a club. Quite funny the other night how much Raneri ****ed up for thousands of their fans. They spend hundreds of pounds and have a few days off work to make the effort to travel abroad to watch their team get inflicted the biggest defeat of any English side in the champions league ever. No thought for the travelling fans with the team he put out and the players he left at home. I get they are already through but they lost their last league game to one of the worst teams in the top flight and so you'd think he'd want a win in any competition to try and breed some confidence for the relegation battle they are currently in.
Re: Who Says Cheats Never Prosper.... Not me Same with Southampton, people forget how they were fcked in League One then spent £1m on Rickie Lambert and appointed Alan Pardew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Re: Who Says Cheats Never Prosper.... Not me I thought that also. A few years ago when Holloway was manager of Blackpool, didn't he get fined £25,000 for changing 10 players to play against Man United ???
