Norwich's throw in creeping up the line antics today

Just laughable that the clown with the whistle was incapable of stopping it. Even when he pointed to where the throw should be taken from they still stole yards and they just kept on doing it.

He did penalise them once but they just ignored his direction and pleased themselves where they took their throws from. It was just one of the many problems with this inept referee's performance. Norwich played like the recently-relegated Premier league team that they are. All the tricks and cheats that they could get away with, from start to finish. Whenever we ran with the ball they had no problem with chopping our player down.

Of course the referee got on top of it with a flurry of yellow cards. Oh, hang on........he didn't bother with that did he?

 

It's always nice to beat a team that has the ref in their pocket.

Some referees just seem in awe of the players and let them get away with murder.

The barge on Kent in the first half was a foul all day long as well.

Every team does it, not just Norwich.

 

The best one was late on, when Payne chased the ball to keep it in and it trickled out about 5 yards from the corner flag. The position they tried taking it from was closer to the half way line than where it actually went out. Eventually the ref let them take it from in line with the 18 yard box, which was still at least 10 yards further forward from where it went out.

And the ref was damn good at making sure we took them from the right position.

Just one other point. What is the point of having that 10 yard marker for corners when the ref drew a line for a free kick 3 yards in from the corner flag, and proceeded to draw his line at that same marker point. Which was clearly 7 yards.

He was effing abysmal.

 

It was even funnier (not really! !!!!) When he marched out 13 paces for their free kick in the first half.

It's a shame someone doesn't edit that from the highlights and send it to the FL and the clowns who control the referees...

 

On one occasion, he took 11 steps before he used his spray to mark his line.

I'm beginning to think the Refs we've had down at Oakwell this season are as bent as a corkscrew!
How else are we to think when you see a Referee display such as that today?

 

My personal favourites were:

the one where he paced them out diagonally from where he was stood (nowhere near the free kick spot) after our players complained that Norwich were too close.
the one where he just did a little jog and sprayed it in front of where the wall already was rather than taking proper steps.

Andy Woolmer reffed us twice last season away at Chesterfield on the first match of the season and at Wembley against Oxford. Today he was abysmal even by his own standards. He needs a measuring stick because his ten yards are bigger than those of most folk. Can't believe he left his cards in his pocket all afternoon with some of the challengers and disent on view. On one occasion he used his spray for a Norwich free kick in the first half behind the ball not in front of it so that was the length of a football nearer to the goal than it should have been. His Linos weren't much better though. Woolmer told them where to take the throw from and even though the player didn't listen it was the ref that got involved and made it our throw even though the lino who just stood and let it happen didn't want to do anything.

 

I think he left them at home.

 

Why would you want the ref to be consistently booking players?

There are too many "offences" deemed worthy of a yellow card these days.

 

when a player becomes pre-occupied with childish gamesmanship (e.g. Brady) they usually have a crap game.
