Pleased that the players got rid of that horrible statistic of not a win since August and managed to get a win against an experienced Norwich team.

I thought the experience a lot of there players had before was coming to places like Barnsley and winning without battling and it cost them in the first half. At times in that first half we were all over Norwich and the open game was really to the likeing of Barnsley.

In the first half I thought we looked good on the right and Bree's education before he moves on to bigger things moved forward quite a bit today against Josh Murphy and the very attack minded Robbie Brady who somehow got the ref to give something against Norwich today. But anyway back to Barnsley, the toughness of Scowen and the effortless glide of Bree really worked and both the goals had origins on the right. First goal Bree moves the ball up 30 yard plus before passing the ball to Scowen who puts in a wonderful ball and Bradshaw put it away after a shocker from experienced defender sebastien bassong. The second. Bree gets the ball after been put in behind by Scowen and again just glides 30 plus yard before been hacked down. That doesn't stop the west Yorkshire full back though and he tried to put in pass to one of the strikers which gets cleared and then what a strike by Hourihane. From the East Stand it looked amazing. Seen it back on the camera and he was too slow today but the west stand view didn't do it justice.

I don't think they had a chance in the first half and ruddy tipped over from Bradshaw and Winnall fired over from 12? yard out. I didn't think the left side offered much in the first half really which disapinted me because I thought Kent could have really took them apart with the free nature of the match.

Half time. Noticed two of the Norwich players really going for it in the short sprints. It was those two that came on after half time and they changed things really. Olsson got a knock last game so maybe that's why he didn't start but Scowen/ Bree duo won the first half dual and Barnsley were the ones smileing.

Second half they went from this expecting things to happen and made things happen and they added toughness into the midfield.

Jacob Murphy got into the game more and he was really troubling Yiadom when he went with him. Bigger problem when he was losing his man. after a slight gesture the first time Davies had enough and came out to Yiadom and was clearly annoyed. Anyway they attacked Barnsley via their right more and pushed Barnsley back until they had pushed the team back enough to allow striker Oliveira space to shoot and it goes in. Was Davies still thinking about the defence? not sure but he should have stopped that. Okay it happens Adam but don't let it spoil the rest of the performance. Over hit kicks by 15 yards and nearly a mess up with Roberts. Talk Talk Talk

A little bit sloppy because the passing bug went from Davies forward and we couldn't keep the ball.

The lads kept trying though and even though things did go wrong they kept at them which was brilliant when Roberts got back to challenge for the ball. Won the tackle and we went forward.

Saying all of that I look back on the SSN highlights and Davies doesn't make another good save, good although they did have chances.

A few notes on a few of the players.

Seen another thread about MOTD and if Bree should get it? Not for me today. Sam Morsy. Loving watching that guy. Wanted Barnsley to sign him when he left Chesterfield and it wasn't to be. Well now we've got him and I just hope He's one of the top priority's in January. Try and get him signed up. When he first joined he spoke about leaveing Wigan and hopefully he still wants to do that and join Barnsley.

Scowen. Said it for 12 month and more about him. Get him in an attacking position and he will do it in the champ. He likes to express himself on the game. Doesn't care about been disciplined on the ball. RW AM LW for him.

Bree. Just enjoy watching him. He'll not be here for much longer imo. He'll just see him on the tv like Holgate and Stones today. Bree should be reaching for the Stars because he's got the ability to do so. Today for him could have been difficult and he made it look easy at times.

Hourihane. Stunning goal infront of the ROI assistant manager. Today was a postive for him.

PH. Changed things. Personally would have liked to have seen it a little earlier but that's always the case from the stands. Changed formation, got a little bit more cover central and got Payne back on since the last time we won at Oakwell I think?

Aside from your usual digs at the usual suspects, and overexaggeration of James Bree's performance (yes he played well, but didn't look a class apart), I agree with most of that.

It seemed like an obvious move to me to bring Payne and Hammill on for the front 2 and put Scowen behind Payne. They seem to link up well together in that role. As they did against QPR. It seems to be a popular misconception that Scowen is a defensive player, although to be fair, he seems to be able to play most positions fairly well.

Goodness. There isn't any digs at any players Archey. Honestly if I was digging I would be far worse than anything i've ever put on here in the 8 years of posting.

I watch the game and try and put something on here. It just goes out. No plans no order that's why it can be a mess at times.

I apologise if I misread it. But Andy Yiadom wasn't troubled by their winger at all this afternoon. I've stuck up for him in the past few weeks when you've criticised him, but for me today, he had his best performance for us.

Again I apologise, and as I say, I pretty much agreed with the rest of your post.

Not sure where you sit Archey and could you see it but he kept losing Murphy. Not my fault honest, I saw it and so did Davies, I sat there and put it on a forum, Davies gave him a verbal ear bashing a couple of times and I'd imagine they will look at it when they do the game review.

Bree did well, but allowed Olsson to cross far too many times. Norwich had no joy down the other side all afternoon. Their goal was a long range '**** it I'll have a dig' and it flew in with venom. You'd have to be on class A drugs to blame Yiadom for that.

Some good stuff in most of your summary though.

Morsy and Roberts were immense but I think Scowen deserved the MOM award.

*Olssons more scowens man. All game their wide man moves inside and tried to get the wide man one on one.

*Yiadom. It's not something I've thought of. It happened. Like I say above. Davies the goalkeeper was annoyed with this. If I wasn't aware some on here don't like swearing I would fill that out more. AY pointed to his head and open hand appologied to Davies. But he then lost him again. It happens but I'm not Yiadoms protector so I will mention it.

*I wans't blameing Yiadom for the goal. That was Davies fault. Clear mistake from him which he was very angry over.

I'm not interested in adding anything further, pal. I'm watching the boxing with a few beers.

Enjoy the latest victory and look forward to Tuesday. Sometimes there's nothing to analyse.

Yer mean Bree lost his man a couple of times but yer not going to make a song and dance abart it like Digger does when it happens to AY.

If I remember I will start and post screen shots off Barnsley player for things like this. It will be after though. Hopefully the media team at Barnsley put it up early tomorrow.

Some people can't do that. They prefer to point out players alleged weakness when we win, so they can say "I told you so" when we lose.

It makes it "win win" for people that are never satisfied
