Brace your selfs barnsley fans the bids are coming burnley n west Brom apparently http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/ba...ar-defender-as-premier-league-interest-grows/
I'd hate for him to go, even for the right money, but I've every confidence in the club uncovering another gem to replace him. Jacksons still new to the championship, and will improve with a run in the team I'm sure. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I don't want to lose him, he could be a club legend. But if we have to see the fruits of our model, then of the two I'd rather see him at West Bromwich. Burnley will be no more than a yoyo club, but Robbo could go all the way with players like Evans and McCauley to learn from. But aye, I'd rather him stay with us. He is got to be worth around 5 million in this day and age hope he doesn't go though. As for bree my dad was talking to him in Wakefield said he was happy playing for Barnsley and even told my old man that he turned down man united to stay here. I expect bree to sign a new deal.
As much as I rate Roberts, and would hate to lose him of course; of all of our star players I think he is the most replaceable. Jackson and MacDonald have already proved themselves well, and with our excellent record of finding centre backs, losing Hourihane, Winnall or any of the others would in my opinion be a bigger loss. However ideally we will lose none!
Doesn't matter who we sell - AS LONG AS WE GET A GOOD PRICE FOR THEM Which hasn't always happened under the stewardship of arrr Patrick
No I agree but he has proved himself adequate in the Championship and with more experience will no doubt become less error-prone
Why because we sold john stones for cheap? Look how that panned out we have now had the best part of 10 million for a defender who many see as over rated and over priced.
Nah, it's a fair point. Davies 350k, Vaz Té 500k, Hammill 500k, Butterfield just over a million... I realise clauses were in place in some cases, but those were 5h1t fees for our best players. What did we get from the skullcrushers for Howard? It has always hurt me that our best players get pretty much given away. If that's changing, brilliant.
True we seemed to have turned a corner with this though. And Butterfield was out of contract and fee was agreed at a tribunal so little we could do there
I think we've sent out the message that our players aren't going on the cheap anymore. Did well out of both Stones and Mawson and I think clubs will start the bidding a bit higher than at previous times. Also, these players have proven themselves at this level, and we're not desperate to sell or struggling at this level. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
To be fair it was well known we'd hand out our best players for nothing but looking at some of the lads we've gotten rid of I'd say only Butterfield is still worth that price, certainly wouldn't have Vaz Te or Davies back on a free never mind paying for them
There has been a sea change in recent time at Barnsley regarding getting a better price. But if Barnsley really want to know how to do it - they need to be spending an afternoon listening to McCabe. However - if McCabe starts to advise on BUYING - then don't listen.
