Just a short note on one or two queries that were made previously. The new Flag is now flying proud above the West Stand The TV's in the Ponte end have now been tested and should all be working fully? Unless you know better. The PA system has also been tested and should be better in the Ponte end. I know i still get complaints on how loud it is in East Upper. The repair works continue on the West Stand. After the Guttering and down pipes it is now the turn of the Gable ends. The work is to ensure the stand is fit for purpose. There are currently no plans to improve/ re use the North End . The game when no hot drinks were available in one of the kiosks was due to a broken boiler. Clearly it couldn't be repaired immediately. I'm still liasing over some disabled issues and will report back in due course. I have some turnstile information and exact figures on a time line, which i will post over the next couple of days. Finally, when i get my brush and fluorescent yellow paint i will sort out the three bollards on the Ponte and East stand corner. In the meanwhile carry on doing your Hammill impressions and avoid them !!! We have another meeting next week. Please let me have any queries you want bringing up. Look forward to seeing most of you at Hillsboro and Cardiff. The SLO twitter account is now up. Fans groups please tweet us if you want something putting out. @SLOBarnsleyFC
Just wondered what the "disabled issues" were. Can I describe my position on this? - I have sat in the end of the U tier of the West stand for several years, and as a disabled person, coped with the 9? steps to take me to a very suitable seat. Before the work on the West stand, I was told by health and safety that I could no longer put my mobility scooter in the nearby corner between west stand and the Ponty, and had to wheel it down to a place half way along the back of the west stand. I have now had to move to a new seat, which on the plus side, is near where my scooter goes, but involves a climb of about 20 steps to get to my seat near "Dickie". There are at least 2 guys with even more serious walking difficulties than I have, using the same access route. Are there plans to improve disabled access? - Not just seat locations, but possible parking for wheelchairs/scooters nearby? The man in charge of health and safety had a chat with me near the beginning of the season, and mentioned the possibility of a row of disabled friendly positions on a new elevated platform at the back of the paddock (lower tier west stand) - but I was not sure if he was just joking? I may need to formally ask for a better disabled seat in the near future, but I understand there is a long waiting list for the small number of places in the Ponty. - I don't really fancy a "closed in seat in that new stand in the corner - I enjoy being part of the crowd. Any advice or help?
Nottstyke. I will bring it up at our meeting, however, it looks like you have had a discussion already. Evacuation procedures are the biggest issue, especially when the crowd is in. Do you have a helper?
You think that expecting a hot drink which you pay good money for to actually be hot is the same as wanting somebody to wipe your arse for you?
Yes, I do have a helper, which is handy for moving my scooter from the bottom of the steps, and standing behind/in front of me as I go up/down the steps. Do you know if/when I can return to my original seat, or whether there is any substance in the comment regarding new disabled seats?
Many thanks. - Nottstyke. Not sure how I find your reply after a few days? - Do I just go back to this thread?
simple answer to the Hot drinks problem in the Ponty end take a THERMOS FLASK....not rocket science is it guys
