Radio Sheffield have just said Hutchinson went in with one foot and Hamill 2, hence why he was sent off.

Both double footed according to player. They've seen the replay a few times.

The ref shows the red to their player! Then asks Adam to leave the pitch! There player slides in, Hammill stays on his feet!

I hope Hecky finally blows his top at the refereeing performances of late .... this is the same ref who let a blatant stamp on Winnal go unpunished and give Hammill a red for staying on his feet. We are an easy touch for referees .... They all know Barnsley won't question their performances!! Enough is enough!

No what we need is to be far more ruthless in the final third of the pitch.

Mmmmm..........I've never listened to Barnsley player commentary before. Are they a comedy turn? Without the jokes.

No semblance of any objectivity at any time, which I suppose could go with the territory.

And they also spot their own Wednesday player dismissal, and then are surprised when the bloke who'd been "sent off" puts in a tackle 10 minutes later.

It does tend to touch upon their credibility.

Perhaps they are both graduates of the Chris Kamara school of Football Commentary.

    Unbelievable Jeff.

    Wednesday player did nothing wrong.

Hammill gave the ref the chance he was looking for. Though it was never sufficiently malicious to warrant a red.

A 50/50 ball ,yellows at most for both players, Ref clearly gives red card to the Wednesday player Hammill walks away to avoid the scrum then Ref tells Hammill to leave after hearing voices in his head.

    In my opinion

It was a classic 50-50 ball - both players went for it, both probably slightly out of control (but not with excessive aggression) both with 2 feet. No red card for either player. Just get on with the game.

Hammill did react slightly - he clearly thought he was the victim - might have deserved a yellow card for that.

    Yet another shockingly bad referee.

By the way, there is nothing wrong with a 2-footed challenge as long as the player doesn't dive in and land half way up the opponents legs. The game has gone too soft if you ask me.

    Re: In my opinion

Way too soft. It's plain embarrassing. That wouldn't have been a yellow for either player at my daughters football. Christ on a bike.
