Both individually and collectively. This includes our Head Coach and his staff. They've turned the club round in a truly spectacular way. They've proved to be of Championship standard, despite the vast majority of them never having worked at this level before. They've improved as the year's progressed and continue to improve. It might be fashionable to have a go at certain players all the time, but then I've never been a dedicated follower of fashion! For me, this is the most dedicated, committed group of professionals we've had at the club for many a long year.
once again you are the voice of reason....thankyou it always sticks in my throat when we lose to the pigs as it always seems that 'Lady luck' smiles beamingly upon them and that the officials are very benevolent towards them too... yet we did not slip down the table and are still well placed to have a shot at a play off place. I suppose if we had gone away to say Reading for instance maybe and lost in a similar manner we would not have felt quite such a sting. Hopefully we will respond well on Saturday and get something. Again matey thanks for giving us your voice of reason , it has certainly brought me back to earth.
We'll get six points in the next two games. Wednesday are 6th and we're six points behind them. They'll get three points. By New Year's Eve, we'll be three points behind them again with Birmingham to play at home.
Nah, what you need to do is pick over every f.cking last detail of everything they do to find fault and reason that they're not good enough. if you can do that to try and prove some bizarre point to yourself in your own mind then so much the better. Context is an unreasonable principle. Yes I'm still fcking pissed off about last night.
I've personally not had a great year - redundancy, health issues and lost loved ones. One shining light has been the football- great set of players who are young and enthusiastic- intelligent young coach and club as a whole going in the right direction. Thank you BFC !!
Positive post alert - You cant be a true fan tell you what though - if this time last year you told me that by the end of 2016 we would win 2 finals a Wembley and be mid table in the Championship at Christmas I'd have laughed at you Its been a great year - just need to follow it by winning the FA cup , Playoff final and being mid table in the Prem in a years time
This is what football is all about. It's meant to be enjoyable, or at least an escape from the day to day stuff. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Fantastic set of lads, so proud of them. They give their all, and that's all I ask. They often do that with skill and panache. Loved being a Barnsley supporter in 2016.
Agreed. We're a small club with limitations on what we can realistically expect to achieve. I'm not saying we shouldn't attempt to exceed those expectations but in reality there are certain achievements that are within our reach. In 2016 we entered a cup competition we should have a decent chance in...and we won it in a thrilling final including an unforgettable goal. We simultaneously went on an almost unprecedented run in the league culminating in a collection of games at the end of the season that were unforgettable. And clinched promotion in another great final and including another goal that will live forever in Barnsley history. Now weve taken that magnificent bunch of players back to our natural home and, despite their almost complete lack of experience at that level, they've set about re establishing us there. In all other aspects 2016 has been pretty traumatic for me but it's been a stellar year on the pitch and just maybe the best I've ever seen in the 50 or so I've been watching them. Thanks lads.
