Has left Birmingham City, shocked at that tbh, thought he' done a good there with no money! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38316110
Worst decision I've seen in a long time that, he was doing a fantastic job there and will surely walk into another Championship club. I'd happily have him here if Hecky ever moved on.
Agreed, Rowett seems a decent bloke. Am I right in thinking they've recently been taken over? If so, can only assume the new owners want their own man in place for January.
So would I. Midtable would have been a good season for them considering where they were when he took over. He's overachieved there this season on a low budget and now the owners are getting ahead of themselves. He seems to have been a victim of his own success. With good support through better board investment he could have got them up this season. Now a multi time failure like Zola is being linked to it, will get millions to spend and might get success off the work of the previous manager.
Birmingham fans are in shock. They genuinely loved him and completely backed him. Zola is supposed to be favourite, potentially taking over before the weekend. Absolute joke. I'd be furious
The lunacy of modern football and 'big' club management. I never rated him as a player, but he's proven himself as an excellent manager, with both Burton and Birmingham in better positions when he left than when he arrived. And as others have commented in the thread, seems a thoroughly decent bloke.
"I would ask that our supporters trust our judgement and look forward to and embrace the future as we begin to implement the exciting vision of Trillion Trophy Asia Limited." Thank f*** for Patrick.
Hope it costs then like Wolves sacking Jackett has done. New owners often don't have a clue: they think that sacking a manager for a 'big name' guarantees success. Imagine if that happened here and Hecky was sacked: we would all be fuming
Very unjustified sacking , can't see the fascination in foreign managers / coaches . I wouldn't swap hecky for any other coach
Some Birmingham fans on talk sport said they were 'over the moon' with his sacking, that the ' loss to Barnsley' was embarrassing. Delusions of grandeur I reckon. Smell a rat though cos if they are thinking of selling the club it probably looks a bit more attractive to potential buyers if Zola is manager rather than Rowett .
Absolute madness. He'll walk into another job though - probably better off out of there if this is how they're going to go about their business.
When they were in the sh*t he took over and kept them up, now they're nearly in the playoffs and what happens? Get your cards! Crazy
And that is why I am losing my love of football - foreign money men with no connection to the club they just bought expecting to buy sucess
Not surprised at all loads of managers get sacked after Barnsley give them a tonking. Only unusual in the delayed reaction, it's normally within hours.
