Watching back the highlights

I think every player gave another good account of themselves. Subs included. Yes certain lads made mistakes and we ended up losing but any neutral watching that will have come away knowing we are a very competent side at the level. Wednesday got the breaks. ''Tis ever thus.

Neither Hammill or Hutchinson should have been punished for that incident in my book. But in modern football Adam walks as does the other. Strange then that Hutchinson didn't. But it was irrelevant to the result. We had more of the ball in attacking terms, more chances but didn't score. Wednesday had three or four and two went in, albeit with fortune. Ah well.

Supporters were great all night. I think Hecky said as much.

Shame the chances fell to Tom rather than Winnall who you would generally back to score. No offence meant to Bradshaw there.

Well in that case Kent should have recognised the overload and helped his full back out, instead of allowing the cross to come in. It's difficult for Yiadom to defend one on one against a decent winger when he's not a natural left back, but it's almost impossible for him to contend with the number game when his winger isn't interested in helping out. If you notice the other side of our midfield had Scowen over there, so Bree had ample help.

And Joao is proper rubbish. He was subbed after 55 minutes last night and he was nearly subbed midway through the first half. Having said that, I don't care about him because he's not our player.

I love to see people's opinions on the matches as I can't get to many games. The problem is that yours are always the same. The same players do well, the same players do badly. I feel like there's something wrong when I can so perfectly predict your writeup before the match even begins.

You might see other people's opinions as excuses if they differ from your own, but all people are doing is trying to keep some perspective.

I don't know how much people can emphasise how tough this league is and why before the penny drops with you.

Some will say others are picking on your posts, but you really bring it on yourself some of the time mate.

I can only write what I see. I will always go into a ground a judge on that day but when I use that day and then if that players had problems with that before when talking about the game or writeing on here.

Those that go to the games frequently will see patterns, it would be strange if they didn't. If this is with mistakes or the way a player looks to build an attack. That happens in any sport.

To be fair, Roberts is pretty suspect distribution wise, there were a few occasions last night where we looked like hitting them on the break and Roberts made a shocking pass straight to the opposition.
Winnall was shocking last night and on Saturday. He's a goalscorer no doubt about it, but his all around play is poor and can be a liability at times.

The fact that you have to ask that question shows you are brain dead. If it was ever alive.

Been saying this last couple of weeks, he's an absolute trojan in defence but bringing the ball out of defence he's not a patch on Mawson and the problem is both Robbo and Angus are defensive CBs so we're relying on our full backs to take it out of defence, not a dig at either of the lads at CB, love them both and there both brilliant at what there by definition there for

Agree, and as good as Yiadom is doing, the fact he's playing left back and is right footed unbalances the side and it shows.

The problem is I'm a big fan of Bree and he has the most potential of anyone in the squad, but when White is back I'd drop Bree and play Yids right-back, gives us a bit more counter attacking threat to the side

Agree with that, Bree is still only young and developing at a fast rate, but as you say White and Yids are more attack minded full backs, and it gives us another option when the wingers are being stifled.

The Deedar who happens to live in my house said Yiadom was brilliant. Was first thing he asked me - who was the guy at left back... He also thought Roberts and McDonald were a good partnership. Thought Barnsley were unlucky.

Genuienly think we have 3 top quality full backs and two stirling CBs, Jackson worries me sometimes, he's not a bad defender he just has the decision making ability of house brick, still think we'll need a versatile full back in Jan to cover for Yids at the AFCON and if White gets injured and also theres Kpekawa but I think Hecky may see him as a CB now

We were same last year. We created loads of chances but didn't have to take as many in the tinpot league. Can't be the same this season or we will be punished.

I think all our team need to look at discipline because if the reds keep racking up red cards we will end up fined. Can't we get Matt Messias to talk to players like he did back when he was a premiership ref? Explain the rules to them from the view of a referee.
