The fact are an absolute joke with what they have done to them by kicking them out of the cup.

A quick rundown of what's happened.
Shaw lane signed Alexander Byrne earlier in the season. They registered the player using the name Alexander Byrne (as that is his name) and his date of birth.

Shaw lane used the fa's official method of monitoring the disciplinary records and suspensions of its players by logging on to the official Facebook members services portal. After their cup game the club checked the fa database which showed Alexander Byrne had 4 bookings this season and was 1 away from suspension. They told the player to go steady in his next few games so he didn't get the 5th booking and his response was that he was also booked at the beginning of the season whilst playing for his previous team. Shaw lane checked again and no booking exists for Alexander Byrne on the fa system so they contacted the fa to ask for clarification.

After doing a bit of digging the fa came back to them and said that an Alex Byrne with a different date of birth was booked twice at the beginning of the season whilst playing g for the team Shaw lane signed Alexander from. It didn't take a genius to work out they were the same player incorrectly logged on the fa database as two different people.

Alexander byrnes previous club had registered him using his nickname and using a false date of birth meaning that when Shaw lane registered him with his correct details the fa didn't realise it was the same player and created a new one.

The fa told Shaw lane to suspend the player for the next game which they did but have since told them that because Byrne should have been suspended for the cup game that they have been kicked out of the cup.

Essentially the players former club registered him using incorrect details, Shaw lane registered him using correct details, the fa ballsed up by not connecting the two and Shaw lane contacted the fa immediately when they realised something wasn't right but they are the ones being punished.

    It's a joke really

They've been denied the opportunity to play in the biggest game in their relatively short history all because the FA are incompetent.

My feelings towards Shaw Lane are indifferent, I don't like or dislike them. But regardless of your opinions of them, they didn't deserve this.

The FA are inept, nothing surprises me where they are concerned.

If a player registers with a different name it's the FA's fault?

While in no way can they be called perfect, I think it's reasonable to accept that a player should know his own name and his date of birth

Players are registered with just a name and dob?

You'd have thought players have a registration number which is unique to the leagues. Failing that, us a NI number.

No wonder there's so much corruption associated with football, when they keep tabs on players on a school register.

His previous club registered him incorrectly. It was nothing to do with the player.

The player's to blame in my opinion. He's been booked 6 times, not 5, so you'd have thought he'd have piped up at some point.

Bit of an OTT punishment based on the facts, but that's what you get for being thick.

Not sure about this but my understanding. Standing in the. At the registered a player already registered. To another club using spurious. Date of birth to mask the fact

They then played said player in a tournament. By m
F that isn't cheating then what is

The appear to have got off lightly

But shouldn't that be the player who is punished not the club?

Millions of examples of incompitence...closer to home there's the Shaw Lane thing, the Hammill red card that was never shown to him, it's not hard to get this stuff right.
