    Well we have omitted him from the squad today which means we have accepted the punishment doesn't it? The timeline to appeal a suspension has passed

    I haven't seen the line up yet. Omitting him doesn't mean that per se as it is a three match ban and we could argue that we were never going to play him today. The time to appeal having passed is obviously a problem though!

    Isn't the brandishing of red and yellow cards just for illustrative purposes. The ref also verbally communicates the punishment and records it.

    I'm just going on what Hecky said. To be honest, I'm sure the red must have been shown to the wrong person before, it's often just held up in the general direction so it could be argued that it was pointing at anyone during most matches I can imagine.
