two footed (that apparently only one ) both feet of the ground studs showing (which they weren't) tackle where he got the ball and never made any contact whatsoever with the opponent. Have the FA suddenly change the rules? I though studs showing meant they have to be perpendicular to the ground, otherwise a vertical jump (to, say, head a ball) would result in an automatic sending off as the player had both feet 'off the ground studs showing'!!) Sounds like the referees need a bit more nous when it comes to deciding what is a lunge and what is a tackle. On that point, putting aside the 'was he or wasn't he red carded', argument, and I know it has been said loads of times, but looking at the replay the tackle ON Hammill was far worse than his so-called two footed tackle but neither was a sending off offence. Can't understand why we have't taken that to the FA even though we are waiting to see if they can confirm he was, in fact, red carded and what evidence they have for that. We really do need video replay and retrospective decisions as it is getting worse by the week. Even with offsides, they could play on (unless it is blatantly offside) even if flagged and if a goal results then refer to the video referee. If offside, take a goal kick, if not goal stands. Not rocket science. Same with ball over/not over goal line or handball/foul in the area where goal given. If defender handballs and referee misses it then replay ref reviews whilst game goes on and then they could call play back for penalty if handball confirmed. Similarly penalty awards could be reviewed before penalty taken. It works in Rugby etc, so about time football used technology.
With today's technology they'd only have to give the fourth official an iPad as well. Easiest job on planet earth is 4th official. Imagine trying to explain to your mates what you do for a living i stand in my own little dugout for 45 minutes then walk out with a board with a number on it then go and stand back in my dugout How do you know what number to hold up? Somebody tells me
