Can't see him going there I mean what can Los Angeles possibly offer him that Barnsley can't with the lifestyle
It would be a big improvement on the SPL but it still wouldn't be a challenge. I can't see him going anywhere other than a top championship or premier league side.
Plenty of British based players who have played there have said it's not as easy as people think. Gerrard has mentioned how you can't simply travel on a coach to an away game hotel the night before. You have to go at least two days before, on a plane and get used to such a vast country full of time zones and different climates. You see the same problem of how people struggle in the NFL. This time of year backing Green Bay Packers for an home win is generally buying money because teams from warmer places like Florida struggle to cope with the Wisconsin winter weather.
I'd hate to see him join a Prem club and not cut it, I'd also hate to see him join a moneybags Championship club and play against us. So if there's any foundation in this story, maybe it would be a good move for us all. Go and spend a couple of seasons in MLS, give his bank account a major boost, then rejoin us in a couple of years time to continue building his legend status here. That said, can't see him going to U.S. at this stage of his career anyway.
Geography aside it wouldn't be a challenge from a football perspective. I dare say his ambitions as an international footballer would be over if he went there.
