In my opinion a absolutely fantastic effort so far by the hecky and the lads and everyone connected with BFC. Arguably could have had more, but could also have had less. Top stuff lads, long may it continue
Keep the squad together next month don't weaken us with a player sale and another mid season rebuild job. Work on our discipline which was bad again yesterday with too many cards. Work at sorting the defence out for more clean sheets that's still conceeding too many. If all that can come together the second half of the season could be very exciting indeed instead of our season being effectively over by Feburary stuck in mid table (no chance we will end up in a relegation battle).
We were 4th bottom with 21pts http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-one/2015-2016/table/2015-12-18
We've got to a delicate point now where the potential sale of Hourihane, Winnall is concerned. I think if we sold we could make it through to the end of the season quite safely with Morsy and Bradshaw filling the sizeable gaps. However, with a young squad that should gain confidence and experience with every win and a defence that could tighten up with further games together at this level....do we hang on to Conor and Sam and see if we can have a run at the top 6. Another 2 or 3 wins in the near future and safety should be all but secured and we could afford to give it a real go. That said, we're not exactly holding back at the moment are we?
We've now won as many games (9) as we did in the whole of our last season at this level. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
They will be a gap upfront as Armstrongs loan is up in january and if winnall leaves aswell we will be 2 strikers down. As for hourhine it's inevitable he will leave just hope we hang onto him until the end of season. As he will be almost impossible to replace. I think we may see bids coming in for marc roberts too in january testing times. But I think we will avoid relegation and hopefully like you say if we can keep our players we can push on for a top half or even top 6 finish.
It does indeed! Our success over the last 12 months is astounding and it's very difficult to see any negatives, yet some still look Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
last season Wednesday got the last play - off place with 74 points.... I think we could just about do that amount as long as there is not too much disruption to the squad next month. But if we finish in the top half I would be more than happy with that though.
Re: last season With the current managerial / scouting structure I wouldn't be surprised if some of our popular players leave we would replace them, or step ups from within to continue our progression and policy. I keep thinking that with what's happened over last 12 months or so nothing will surprise me but yet pleasantly it still does.
This next month will be the indicator for the remainder of the season. In Championship campaigns of the past we've had to let our top contributors go and it's cost us in one way or another (relegation/play-off dreams dashed) As far as I know we aren't desperate for cash so I hope we show poaching clubs this and only sell anyone once we have a suitable (by which I mean someone who can hit the ground running) replacement in place and also for the right price instead of being ripped off.
Great achievement. Hecky is a legend. In the long run I'm more worried about keeping him, than Winnall, Houihane, Roberts, or whoever. Would be great to hang on to them all, but the model is for players to see us as a stepping stone to higher things. If we can keep recruiting well & having top class academy facilities we have a very good chance to keep punching above our weight.
