made by a firm called Bramwells , WOW they are fabulous and bloody huge. They remind me of reyt pickled onions we used to get in the chippy's when I was a kid. Totally recommend them.

I'm a new convert to Aldi. I'm impressed with some of the stock they carry which is considerably cheaper than the bigger supermarkets, and the taste/flavour is identical to the bigger brands.
We now do half of our weekly shop at Aldi. Most things are a lot cheaper and just as good. We still go to Morrisons or Tesco for the rest, either because we've discovered the odd thing isn't as nice at Aldi or it's something they don't stock.

I've been buying a Pilsner lager called Rheinbacher at 99 pence for a 500ml bottle. It really is a nice drink, about 4.6 or 4.8 proof. My uncle served lifetime in the army and spent a lot of that time posted in Germany. My Aunty told me when Aldi first moved to Stairfoot, to use it as it was quality stuff at budget prices. They've expanded their ranges immensely since then, but It really does sell quality produce cheap
Only really got used to Aldi in the last few months, can't get everything from there but can't knock the prices or indeed the quality. Did once get a pack of chicken breasts that looked like they'd gone funny a day or so later when I opened them through, had to throw em.
Frozen cauliflower cheese out of the bag is outstanding. I often carry some to the village fete for instance or maybe on a trip to honduras
Chilean Pinot Noir around £4.50-£5.00 a bottle, slightly chilled just below room temperature - Outstanding. They also have a good CdP this Christmas using all of the 13 grapes available for that region. Yours Oz Clarke
I've been shopping at Aldi and Lidl for years, where have you lot been???? Lidl do some beers that I've never seen anywhere else (proper British brown beer) Hatherwood I think it's called, very good. Also their "specials" particularly tools are very good value, not professional tools but as good as "the likes of" (sorry, I went a bit Wednesday there) Black & Decker etc for a fraction of the price. Cycling stuff is decent as well.
