Manchester United ask ST holders for their thoughts, and apparently Everton are against the idea.

Celtic's safe standing section was half empty the other night providing the usual library atmosphere at Parkhead.

It's ridiculous that clubs are even thinking of giving fans the choice. They should simply be charged £48 and told to sit down and shut up.

And if you think Celtic Park has a 'library atmosphere' can I borrow your library card?

I've been to Celtic Park many times, and 99% of the time it's an awful atmosphere.

Just an opinion on their atmosphere. I've been to Parkhead 21 times(according to my groundhopping app) and it's always been rather dull. I bet derby days and Europe nights are pretty special though.

Never been to be honest but the european games always look a good atmosphere aswell as the old firm. Suppose it may be hard to get hyped up to play teams like Inverness

I know a few season ticket holders from my time up there and even they said with the standing section half empty it was like a morgue the other night.

My ex was a season ticket holder with her Dad, I used to use his ticket all the time, home and away games. I once witnessed Celtic being booed off the pitch at St Johnstone after WINNING 3-2. Bizarre.

Well I've been up a few times as well - over 600, plus every other ground in Scotland bar three and every ground in England bar four. And, although I recognise my own bias, I have to say the atmosphere at Celtic Park is, by some distance, the best I've ever experienced. That's not to say it's always full on. It can't be in a league as uncompetitive as the SPL but when that ground is bouncing, it's an experience like no other in English/Scottish football. And the only time I've seen something similar (from my limited European travels) has been at Dortmund, Schalke and Galatasaray, and on a smaller scale St Pauli.

But let's not fall out about it!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion mate. Funnily enough I thought Dortmund's atmosphere was massively overrated and quite disappointing to be honest, and I was in the middle of their "yellow wall"

Schalke were impressive, but the Belgrade derby was just nuts at both ends! The loudest support I've been in the middle of in the Bundesliga was probably FSV Mainz, my ears were ringing after 90 minutes with their ultras. Quite unexpected.

Respect! as I believe some young people say. Not been to Mainz (would love to) but have to disagree about Dortmund - though the game was against Schalke - so may have been out of the ordinary. Belgrade Derby - always strikes me as a frightening occasion!

English grounds still to visit: Wycombe, Stevenage, Barnet, Accrington. Bugger, it's five - Cheltenham. Forgot they came back in!

Belgrade was interesting, to say the least! The atmosphere was amazing, never seen so many Police officers before, nor have I seen supporters setting fire to the actual stadium either! As long as you keep your sensible head on, it's easy to avoid the madness/violence. I'd love to do an Istanbul derby but the Mrs has put her foot down with that one... For now!

Mainz stadium is in the middle of nowhere, literally in the middle of a field! I was very impressed with their supporters, it was definitely unexpected.

I'm currently on 24 stadiums in Germany, a good few more to add to the list after the winter break. I'm only on 57 for England and 9 for Scotland.

January I'm off to AC Milan vs. Napoli.
February: Feyenoord vs. Groningen and Greuther Fürth vs. Fortuna Düsseldorf.
March: Belgrade derby again and Hamburg vs. Hertha Berlin
April: Rapid Vienna vs. Austria Vienna
May: Atletico Madrid vs. Athletic Bilbao - Last ever game at the Vicente Calderon!

Also looking at driving over for Westerlo vs. Kortrijk on Boxing Day, but not made my mind up yet.

I'm hugely impressed, and in the middle of that lot we've got Leeds at home! Loved the discussion but have to go: Mad Friday and the Mrs is threatening to give me a kicking if I don't leave the keyboard! Happy Xmas to you and yours.
