Noticed on Oddschecker this morning Barnsley were 150/1 for promotion with Stan James. I couldn't resist a dabble at that price so i logged on to their website and deposited £5. When i then pressed the ' place bet ' a message flashed up WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT THIS AMOUNT, THE MAXIMUM WE CAN ACCEPT IS 12 PENCE ( YES 12p ) A Multi Million pound company knocking back a £5 bet is pathetic. And then to piss me off further i went to withdraw my £5 and was advised the minimum withdrawal is £10
Just looked on 888Sport, we're 100/1 on there. Same odds as Cardiff and Notts Forest are 80/1, Preston 66/1 and Wolves 50/1. All have about the same chance though in reality.
Re: Simple Solution Companies offer less to successful betters. It's all a bit of a con in that way. I read an interesting article about a guy who was researching and making his living betting on horses, and everytime he started winning money regularly, companies would effectively bar him by only offering limited money bets like the one you mentioned. He had to bet through relatives and ultimately then give up. It's a con because you either lose regularly, or start to win then get banned.
I got 250/1 on us a few weeks back with Betfair. They let me have £20 on, pays for weekend in London for playoffs again, and then some. Stan James notorious for restricting punters.
