Re: Ton Bradshaw It's not a bad problem to have . Do we play the same 11 in the interest of continuity when we're playing well , or do we , bearing in mind it's 3 games in 7 days , rest some legs and start some other bloody good players , all of whom can be considered worthy of starting .
Re: Ton Bradshaw There are three kinds of quick in football though aren't there. Fast acceleration High top speed Quick footwork Roberts doesn't need to be quick with the ball, he needs the genuine speed to catch players up, they have the ball he doesn't. He's got that speed so is plenty fast enough for his role as centre back. Yiadom might not have a high top speed(I haven't noticed really) but he has fast footwook and can move fast with the ball. Kent is similar, his top speed might not be using bolt style but he has quick acceleration and fast footwook Bree is actually the opposite, he has fast acceleration but slow footwook and acceleration which can actually be a hinderence to him but his top speed makes up for it. I agree that neither Bradshaw or winall have much in the way of any of the three speeds but they more than make up for it with positional sense and ability. I don't think they need to be like lightning when we have there players around them who do have those skills, if we were just a fast team and nothing else we would be bullied every week. Armstrong has pace, Watkins does and I think Payne has a high top speed too when he stretches his legs so it isn't like we don't have options. We don't need to have all the fastest players starting every week but we do have them to call on when needed
Re: Ton Bradshaw Speed is not an attribute for a footballer , being in a Premier League Academy is all you need .
Re: Ton Bradshaw Attributes are singular Mr C and ST's stated above the differences. Some players like Bree/ Watkins and also good at top speed with Ball at feet. Another player not mentioned that's quick. Janko.
Re: Ton Bradshaw Watkins should start if he's available. As important as Conor for his assists and goals. It would be harsh I reckon but Watkins for Scowen would be my personal preference. Although how do you drop someone who's just picked up 2 man of the match awards in a row. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
I've changed my mind already actually. Why would you change a winning team to bring in a player like Watkins, who is that good, he's as effectual as a substitute as he is from the start. He's come off the bench in the last 2 games to score and assist a goal. Whilst he's too good a player not to have in the starting 11, we're at no more of a detriment with him coming on. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
Likes of him, Armstrong and Payne are twice as effective coming off the bench against tiring legs because of their energy and pace. All worthy starters though. Good to have the choice. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Re: Ton Bradshaw Not fast compared to who - Bolt? Yiadom is as quick as most in the team - why should Roberts be quick with ball at his feet - not that type of player
Nothing wrong with a little rotation over the busy Christmas period, essential really at the rate our lads work. B'Ham will not be looking forward to seeing Super Sam again on Saturday, maybe let Tom have a few minutes off the bench and start with Marley. Give Sam a little rest for the Forest game? I'm sure Hecky will do the right thing... Sorry, I mean the Head Coach...
Re: Ton Bradshaw Lol. Tell Cardiff fans we aren't the quickest of teams. One of our goals must have taken about 6 seconds from our own penalty box to the back of their net.
Re: Ton Bradshaw It's almost a relay event, the way we break for goal. What with that and set pieces, we've pretty much got track and field nailed down...
