In true Yorkshire style I would say change is not good. The squad has settled and adapted well to life in the championship. Key focus should be to retention and to secure deals for key players Hourihane, Scowen, Winnall and Watkins.

In the new year we have White and Payne returning from injury, Williams returning to fitness and Hammill fighting to get back in to the side. All will be like new signings.

So what additions do we need? Provided nobody leaves I would hope to add a back up keeper, and if he were available Kevin Long.

you can definitely do more harm than good, during the january window. personally i think i'd like to see another full back in. i worry about bree and white staying injury-free. other than that, not sure we need to do much. i'd be happy if we just kept our crown jewels

Personally, I would love for Isgrove to return to Oakwell with his work ethic, passion and attitude and also, he loves being at the club. But this time on a permanent.

I think we need backup rather than first teamers, probably on the wing,at full back and in central midfield and defence. Fully expect us to be going after spreadsheet superstars with a view to filling the gaps that may open up in the summer, but who would still be able to step up in the event of an injury crisis.

Suspect that Ariyibi, Pierre and that guy from Luton will still be on the list, but I'd love to see Isgrove back if Southampton are done with him.

That horse has bolted I reckon. He will be on far more money than we could pay him. Defo need another midfielder in though. The lad at Luton (McGeehan?) is probably a target.

A centre half who likes to have the ball at his feet.

    Renew all the expiring contracts.

No thanks, he had his chance and chased the money instead. Rather look elsewhere.

Full back areas need looking at. New left back needed and then one who can play on both sides (maybe Connolly from Everton) on loan if Yiadom goes to AFCON

Would also love Aryibi from Chesterfield. He would add pace, height and more penetration on the break. Signing him would add a new dimension to the squad definitely.

Surprised to see people suggesting wingers. Hecky clearly sees Watkins as a winger so there's him, Kent, Hammill, Janko & Williams as well as Scowen who's doing well there.

Much more important is another central midfielder & then after that it'd be a left back, a striker & a centre back before a winger

I'd like us to sign players who are first team ready I'd like a left footed full back, a midfielder with horse's lungs who can still play football and a ball playing centre back.

Cameron mcgeehan from Luton I'd imagine we would be back in for him young and plenty of goals and assists from.midfield chelea paid 800k for him as a schoolboy so he must be naturally talented. Not sure I understand the fuss about long yeah he was good in league one but he hasn't played football all season and very little at championship last season. Hope we sign morsey aswell.

Isgrove, a ball playing centre back, a quality left back, Morsy and 1 other central midfielder ( more of an athletic presence). A forward to replace Armstrong if he leaves and with an eye on Conor leaving the lad from Luton.

Personally, I don't think we'll see that many incoming permanent transfers during January, if any at all, who will automatically be regarded as challenging for a place in the first team.
There'll be half a dozen signings made now I've said that!:D

Work ethic? He's happier back playing kids football than going out and playing first team games somewhere. He's not what we should be looking for.

Agreed. I don't get the obsession with Isgrove. He did a job for us last year but we have far better players. Plus he's being paid a fortune at Southampton to piss away his career and he seems happy enough to do that, shame really.
