If he had slapped or abused my missus I would have kicked him down the stairs as well. Complete ****. It is clear he will never beat his alcoholism. It will only end one way. I don't think it will much longer now.
Couldn't care less about him now tbh, he's had an incredible amount of support and help from people inside and outside the world of football and he just doesn't want to help himself. He should be grateful as he's had so many more opportunities than others in his position but can only see this ending one way.
I don't think he has long left if I am honest. He's got issues and I have some sympathy for him but some things he does are beyond the pale. As a footballer he was a genius but as a man he's not somebody I really like very much although I still think a lot of his problems with alcohol are partly attributable to the reprehensible hangers-on he surrounded himself with.
