In the paper today 1. Steve Martin shamed into removing a tweet lamenting the loss of Carrie Fisher because he called her "the most beautiful creature he had ever seen". Apparently, thats sexist. 2. Police looking for a bloke on the tube who "assaulted" 2 kids. What he did was ask them to take their feet off the seat so he could sit down and when they didn't, he grabbed their ankle to shove their feet off. Their mother, far from being ashamed that someone else has to instill manners in their kids, instead cries assault, goes to the police and then rings the paper for her 5 minutes of fame. Modern life can't half be depressing.
What you have to remember is that her bad parenting comes from her upbringing and so on it goes.....it's less a sign of our times as the product of our past.
Feminism gone mad the Steve Martin one. An absolute disgrace. The second point doesn't surprise me in the slightest. World is proper **** these days.
Yeah we should be allowed to piss over a recently dead woman's legacy and nobody is on record as having put their feet on any chair without being executed prior to 2014. Bring back hanging!
Did you read and understand the opening post or are you just looking for a reaction because quite frankly I can't be arsed.
Anyone ever see a clip of a binman in America who says good morning to a woman walking down her drive? She freaks out to the point she calls the police claiming sexual assault.
What has Steve Martin, sexism/feminism, and a woman claiming assault got to do with brexit and being anti 'pc'?
Was it? Or was it staged for camera? It always gets me these people who just happen to be filming binmen saying morning to people, I wouldn't have thought it a camera worthy event. In regards the OP, I've seen a lot of people complaining about the first one saying that people took umbrage to him calling her 'beautiful' but I imagine that it was the 'creature' bit that didn't sit right with people. Either way, he clearly meant it as a tribute to her so I have no idea why people took offence to it. In terms of the second one, I don't think he should go around grabbing at people, even if they are being little (insert your own word here). However, the mum should have intervened well before then and told them to stop being idiots and to move their feet. Once the man did grab at them she maybe was within her rights to tell him to get his hands off of them (whilst still telling them to shift) but it isn't assault or a police worthy event by any stretch of the imagination.
The thing that I find depressing is that either the video was genuine, in which case it's madness, or it was staged, in which case it's madness. Why would it occur to someone to make a video like that? Madness!
My current pet theory is that modern life what we think if as progress and some point stopped and thinks are now just getting shitter and shitter. Both are sad indictments of modern thinking.
I think he should have broken the kids ankles with a hammer, he should have then put the same hammer through the ill mannered mothers nose
