First off, happy new year folks. If any player was in a hurry to leave i expect they would've gone this morning. No news is good news. Serious month though this. It could be as important as the day we signed Hecky on permanent. If all goes well we'll head into February with our players on shiny new 3 year contracts and ready to attack the top half. If all fails and we lose our 'spine', we'll have our work cut out having to rebuild and start from scratch with another 2 years of developing another Championship standard team.
Suppose tomorrow's team sheet will tell us much of what we need to know. Then again, might mean nothing at all Best just sit tight, enjoy the month's victories and see what we end up with. I would hate to think it was going to be another exodus like when we lost Butterfield, Vaz Te and Drinkwater. Can't see anything like that happening though.
i'm not expecting any of our first team squad to leave, apart from mebbi morsy. i wouldn't be surprised if wigan recalled him. i'd expect to see a full back come in. we're light as it is and we'll be losing yids for 5 games. not expecting any more movement, other than fringe/loan/development players
I'd hope that the lesson learn't from that (and the fact that we've already banked a tidy sum from Stones and Mawson) means that there's a lesson learned from history there!!
That particular transfer window was bad as we lost our entire midfield in the space of about 4 weeks. Butterfield, O'Brien and Perkins got injured, and of course Drinkwater and Vaz Te moved on. Have no fear...... Diego Arismendi is here!!!!! #TeamsLikeBarnsley
