He's vital to us. Wanted him at Oakwell ever since I saw him at Chesterfield. Wonderful battling midfielder with vision and top positional sense. I don't understand the deal to be honest. I didn't think he could be recalled if he was on a season long loan, which he is. And if we've contractually agreed to buy him for a certain price then there should be no negotiation. Would be interesting to see the real detail. I do agree with one of the statements on here.......if I was wigans manager I'd deffo get him back if I had the chance. However, he wants to be with us, we want him, so get the deal done guys.
Can you imagine if we were bottom of the league and a player deemed surplus to requirements was playing regularly on loan for a club just outside the play-offs? I'm surprised there hasn't been more complaints about that from the Wigan side.
Isn't it similar to the Danny Drinkwater situation? We extended his loan to the end of the season, but 2 weeks later Man Utd recalled him as they had accepted an offer from Leicester for him. In this case it sounds like we've made an offer and triggered his release clause. Wigan have recalled him while negotiations take place. <iframe id="rufous-sandbox" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="true" style="position: absolute; visibility: hidden; display: none; width: 0px; height: 0px; padding: 0px; border: none;" title="Twitter analytics iframe"></iframe>
I dont think there are any negotiations to be had - at least not between us and Wigan. We might need to agree terms with Morsy but everyone seems to think the option to buy was negotiated as part of the original loan deal
And there's no panic really. We've got Blackpool coming up then another week to the next game. We could give him and others a week off till the next league game.
Just reading what Wigan boss said about Sam , resigned to losing him as fee is agreed. Just down to agreeing personal terms now
No he's not you're talking rubbish...he's the worst midfielder we've ever had on loan and nowhere near the quality of player a great club like Wigan need .
I can't blame them for what they've done. They want the money now to help fund signings to try & keep them up. It isn't a nice situation for the player & it's a bit annoying for us but they've got to look after themselves
Nobody noticed Wigan are in relegation bother? Of course they recalled him. Not for the first time, we just showed another club what a good player they have on their books..
