    I realise most of you will have been celebrating our fine result tonight. But did anyone see Venus make an appearance in the night sky tonight?

    errrm its always there

    maybe not as bright but always there.... its the very first you see before the stars begin to appear.

    Not a star . Jupiter
    If you look, it doesn't twinkle.
    Stars emit light from a point source and are affected by the earth's atmosphere.
    Planets are more of a disc with the light coming in from a broader angle.

    Above the moon at about 5-to on a clock is Mars. A lot dimmer than Venus but wonderful to see these three objects very close together.
