Another Jan bluesbreaker! Given I've only seen our home games it's a selection restricted to half of the teams in the league. But this is what I've gone for; GK - Ali Al Habsi (Reading) RB - Chris Gunter (Reading) CB - Tommy Elphick (Villa) CB - Tyler Blackett (Reading) LB - Scott Malone (Fulham) RW - John Swift (Reading) CM - Scott Parker (Fulham) CM - Henri Lansbury (Forest) LW - Matt Ritchie - (Newcastle) ST - Jordan Ayew (Villa) ST - Chris Martin (Derby/Fulham) Special mentions for Cairney and Aluko (Fulham) Evans (Reading) Hayden (Newcastle) Mulgrew (Bburn) and Osborn (Forest). I'd still be hugely confident of a Reds side giving that team a game What do others reckon?
Didnt you mean to type Nelson Oliveira is the best opposition player I have seen at Oakwell this season ? I wouldnt swap Connor Hourihane for anyone I have seen in an opposition shirt. Id happily take Oliveira as well though
All of Fulham team. Best side I've seen so far. We couldn't cope with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The standouts I can remember so far have been Parker, Oliviera, Aluko and McCleary (until his lunacy sending off).
Richie.... im baffled he was garbage against us didnt get past Yids once in the 1st half fouled 4/5 times before he was rightfully booked.
Scott parker for how he controlled midfield and indeed the game. Dwight Gayle for clinical finishing and attempting a scorpion kick before Mikhitaryan and Giroud.
Fair enough, I thought his passing was top drawer, that must have been what impressed me rather than him beating his full back. It's a game of opinions! A few have mentioned Gayle but I was really unimpressed. He did nothing other than two tap-ins.
I actually remember John Swift for Reading coming up directly against Conor and (whisper it quietly) giving him a little bit of a runaround. I'm sure Conor was just having an off day, whilst Swift was playing out of his skin, but he looked a very useful footballer. Good skill and vision. Worthy of a mention here in my eyes. But obviously not as good a leader or producer of goals as Conor. Would have him over any player I've seen for any opposition so far.
Without putting it into an XI, the best players I've seen play against us at Oakwell this season are: Scott Parker and Sone Aluko (Fulham) Jonjo Shelvey (Newcastle) Henri Lansbury (Forest) Tommy Elpihick and Mile Jedinak (Villa) Charlie Mulgrew (Blackburn)
Swift at Reading was class against us. Kept finding pockets of space, dictated play and scored a worldly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
