It has been an irrelevance.

It is in a mess. It is also the biggest party in Europe, since JC was elected.
He's not Jesus Christ, he's Jeremy Corbyn.
There is a lot of work to make Labour relevant again, but Blair is gone.
We have a country that has been milked, sold off & assf**ked by the elite. (Mr Cameron, Ms May, et al).

If you want a charasmatic leader, try Hitler, Le Pen, Jeremy Clarkson or Farage.

They claim(ed) to represent the working class. Are you stupid enough to believe them?

 

No I wouldn't believe a word that came out of their mouths either as they are/were also self serving.

I'm critical of Benn, because he, like many in the Labour Party have sold us down the river.

Cameron did worse & is set to be seen as the weakest leader in post war history.
He bought an election on the back of a referendum to try & keep his party together,
That same party now hasn't a clue about where it is taking us.
The only words we hear are "hard brexit" or now the wonderful "red white & blue brexit".

Substitute brexit for bulls£it & we are getting nearer to the truth.

The Labour Party is a socialist party & we now have a socialist leading it.
Even Peter Hitchens of the Daily Mail agrees this might be a good idea.

 

It seems to me that the card carrying members have a different view of what the labour party should look like to the ones who aren't members but are/were loyal voters. Not hard to see why the decline in voting support. If the downturn was a reaction against the old guard then surely the new regime should be now making massive progress regards the electorate. But they are not. Will they ever, only time will tell.

 

Well as a Conservative voter for the last 40 odd years I'd be more concerned about Benn being the Labour leader than any of the half wit, limp wristed pinkoe socio/communists that have been trotted out since Blair.

 

i seem to remember blair promising us a referendum on the eu,in fact he championed it telling us how john major promised us one but failed to deliver and now new labour would give us one.

I'm only interested in Labour getting back into power, Mark. Any sort of Labour government is preferable to another Tory term. For that to happen, Labour needs to appeal to a wider spectrum of voters than they will under Corbyn. I don't want voters put off by defence and foreign policy many see as crackers.

 

That's both fair and understandable. And I get why. Corbyn will never win an election, much as I support the man. He doesn't have the press on his side, but that's another story.

The big question is, how far are you (we) willing for Labour to go to win again in terms of concessions? Do they just become pink Tories by basically adopting all of their policies?

Personally, I think it's time to go for a mass overhaul of British politics. The voting system we have is skewed and wrongheaded, allowing far too much power to some, and nowhere near enough to others. In 2015, the Tories took 37% of the vote. They got 51% of Parliament and a majority government they are treating with impunity.

The SNP got 4.7℅ of the vote. They got 56 seats. UKIP, the Lib Dems and the Greens together got just shy of 25% of the vote. They got 10 seats.

It's time for everyone who isn't the Tories to come together and look at what is happening to our country and force a vote on PR, then support it. The biggest commitment to this is Labour, who need to accept that they're a broken party. If they do, it'll pass in minutes.

 

I would rather have those "crackers " policies, than have the Wars and killings just to support the Oil grab and Zionist barstewards !!

 

I feel the same and was a big supporter of Tony but what did he ever achieve.

 

Oh I don't know, him and his wife have done very very well out of it
