I used to watch Lincoln City quite a lot, which wasn't always great, a 0-0 draw with a dying Aldershot (which was later scrubbed from the records after they went bust) being a particularly grim afternoon. However, it was nothing compared with a league match I went to in the USA in 1992, pre-MLS days. Tampa Bay Rowdies vs Miami Heat, which was basically an ancient Ricky Hill, surrounded by a load of players who would struggle to get into a pub team. The pizza slices were good through. Plus there was a live commentator who doubled up at an ad-man. A completely bizarre experience. Summed up when one of Miami's "stars" started chuntering at the ref, and an elderly female Rowdies fan near us started shouting that "he needs to be sent off for insubordination!"

I went to a couple in Malaysia ( including David Rocastles last match) that were pretty dire. Also a couple in Australia that were pretty awful. Worst I've seen though was in Thailand where the players seemed allergic to the ball.

Darwin v some team from birmingham.

All the locals took it deadly serious. Almost scrapping cos i critised their left back. He was god swful. Made tk look like carlos.
The pitch if you stood in on goal mouth sloped that badly you saw half the posts at other end.

I was unfortunate enough to witness a game of elephant football in China, which I reckon was probably on a par with the American match.

Whilst still a youngster taken to watch Shotts Bon Accord play Bathgate during a holiday in Scotland. I don't know why my late father persisted in taking me, other than to realise there were worse teams than in the Third Division North.

Marine 3 Barnsley 1 FA Cup 1st Round November 1975. I couldn't believe Barnsley could lose & concede three goals against opposition from so far down the footballing pyramid. We deserved to, as well.

DVTK, in the OTP Bank liga of Hungary. We have seen them win once in 6 games over 5/6 yrs. Ujpest and Videoton have been the best opposition, but neither worthy of sending a post card home. DVTK actually beat Videoton.

Losing at Northampton in the cup one year when we were in league one.

Freezing cold and we were absolutely dire.

A game against Workington in the old 4th division back in the 70s. Workington were as much use as a one-legged man in an arse kicking contest. We were worse. We lost 1 - 0 at home in front of about 1000 fans. The weather was terrible and when I came out of the ground somebody had nicked my Lambretta.

Things picked up though. I'd parked my Lamby in a different place to normal and eventually I found it safe and well.

Haha, no but I remember that as well - the one I'm thinking of was towards the end of the season, the year only the East stand was open, we lost 2-0 and Redders got dogs abuse. Think Jim dobbin played for Grimsby that day. The game was just awful. properly bad.
