I wonder why we have only given them 5300 tickets, we used to give 6000, or at least 5800! We gave Newcastle 5500 this season which seemed odd when they could have sold 5800, but Leeds have only got 5300. Maybe we are leaving off some seats for police reasons? I never understand this when the stands aren't even joined together!
The latest plan is to fasten it to the goal behind Adam Davies and hope nobody notices. We'll need volunteers to move it at half time.
They never sell the bottom couple of rows. They've also started to leave seats empty in each bottom corner, to keep fans away from the tunnel and East Stand corner.
is that right? couldn't we have put the flag in west stand north where there are no fans anyway, and made the extra ££? i just assumed it was because of segregation..
I really don't understand this - why build a stand with 6000 seats if you are not allowed to sell the front 2 rows or the blocks at the edges. Keeping back 700 seats out of 6000 just seems bizarre. Thats over 10% of the stand capacity and its costing the club £25,000 in lost sales.
It does seem bad business practice when when half our stands we won't sell every seat in them. So many questions like what is the future of the west stand because there is no point keeping our old stand if we can only put people in 50% of it. And why we can't sell every north stand seat when it's not connected to the home stands when so many clubs including the Old Firm derby can get by with just a line of stewards between fans.
I think we may give them a couple hundred more in the north we let newcastle have more on a Tuesday night. Leeds have sold 5300 and the stand holds just under 6k. A leeds fan at my work informed me today they sold it out in 15 minutes of genreal sale at £36.....MASSIVE
still can't get my head round this being a 5.30 kick off on a saturday. kick off being the operative word.
No, it was supposed to be a joke, but (as ever) not a very good one. We'll probably put the flag in the West Stand as you suggest.
I really don't understand why we can't sell more tickets in the stand when the whole stand isn't even connected to the East stand, and we don't have fans in West stand north section. We always used to sell 5800, we've gone from a full north and half the West to just 5300, the police (if it's down to them) will cap it at 5000 before long!! When we go to Donny we have tickets in the corner quite close to home fans!!!
I would imagine it has to be following instruction from SYP. Hillsborough is ridiculously restricted in terms of segregation and Bramall Lane also has seats and seats cordoned off. Must be a thing with SYP. At the City Ground we were within spitting distance of the Forest fans and tonight Spurs and Chelsea will be able to shake hands if they fancied it. But in this neck of the woods we need whole blocks netted off. Re Donny, that section next to the away fans is also now blocked off, with their livelier lot now behind the home goal.
Still, a bigger city then Sheffield and only one club to support, I'd say on that basis the pigs are better supported club.
