Similar size club to us maybe even a little smaller, Just turned down a £10 million bid from West Ham for their striker Hogan.
Problem is strikers cost alot more than any other player on the pitch, and all of our ones that are attracting interest are out of contract, we could probably ask for that much for Hourihane if he had 2 years left on his contract
If so that's silly money, he's a decent striker and he gets goals at Championship level but 10 million just shows how stupid transfer fees are nower days
Not surprised they turned it down when reports say they have told Newcastle he would cost them 15 million pound. I hope the reason they want so much is because Rochdale have a sell on clause. Whatever we think of Keef it would be nice for them as a club to get a couple of million windfall.
A ridiculous fee for a pretty decent forward. Just shows what we could have got for Hourihane and Winnall were circumstances different. Suppose we move on and hope to drop on again in the future.
Am I right in thinking that we took Scott Hogan on trial after he played against us in a Pre-season game at Stocksbridge? It was one of the few games to feature Mido. Keith was in charge at the time, and I think he'd previously had him at Rochdale but had released him.
They've a very rich owner tho.. who is also building em a new ground. What price that in London.. Sent from my 5051X using Tapatalk
It's just paper talk . If it goes down to the last day of the transfer window l can't see them turning down 5m .
If they really have turned down a 10million offer this week there is no way they will be accepting a 5 million offer in 3 weeks time they would just look desperate and any future transfer dealings would be tainted by clubs knowing they can call their bluff.
Got to remember that a lot of these figures include add-ons that may never come to anything, so it might be more like £5m up front. I've no idea what this deal is like but it's happened in the past.
