I was chatting to him & his family after the game in the club car park. They were asking for alternative routes back to Rotherham, rather than turning right at the end of Grove Street and heading towards the M1. A dull, but true, anecdote.
Surprised that with all your 'expertise' on Chelsea you haven't managed to work out where Azpilicueta actually plays yet. Suffice it to say that if he starts overlapping Hazard from there Conte will probably throttle him.
What do you mean? He's played right of a back 3 in a 343 this season but 90% of the times he's played left back and him and Hazard have ripped teams apart down that side. For Spain he plays right or left back depending on who's avadible.
He's been in the chelsea squad quite a few times this season. Whats he done wrong? turned down a contract?
Did well last season for Vitesse. Done a lot more than most 19 year old's I can tell you that. Go and check what Fletcher had done at 19 or Winnall or Watkins or Bradshaw
Why are you comparing him to what our players did when they were kids playing in second rate leagues? they've all scored far far far more professional goals than Solanke. Alfonso Alves scored 45 times in 39 games for Heereven Jan Venneggor of Hesslink scores 73 in 150 games for PSV Mateja Kezman scored 105 times in 122 games for PSV Not sure scoring 7 goals in the Dutch league makes you a superstar!
And forgive me if I don't fully trust your judgement on youth team players. Emmanuel Frimpong isn't even in a "weak" Ghana squad! Suppose he's hardly going to get in before AY.
It's better than league 2 or u21 football. It's more the character. How many 17 year olds (that's what age he was when he first went) go away from home to another country and test themselves in football?
Anyway it looks like he's off to the midlands. Birmingham are in for the bad bad lad. Not like Zola won't be able to enquire about Dominic's character at Chelsea.
Lots. Not sure why you used this to have a go at our players. The bloke scored seven professional goals!!! He'll follow your mate Frimpong.
Add one Solanke = 7 to all our strikers up at 18 year old. You add Winnall's up at 18 and Watkins and Bradshaw and Payne
Huh? What has that got to do with anything? I'm not comparing their u17 record. Heard Sammy scored 97 goals for Sutton Coldfield colts in one season at U11. Much better than Solanke scored at the same age. Solanke has done very very little in the professional game. That's a fact pal. Our players are banging in goals. There isn't too much to discuss here.
They weren't playing for us at 18. They are now and are doing us proud. Breaking news - all human beings aren't the same. They develop at different rates.
No you've tried to be smart and said what's he done? I'm turning it back on you. He can proudly show what he's done. Top youth with dominant displays in the UEFA youth league. England u21 international before 19th birthday and played quite a few games Viteese and scored a few goals.
Smart? Mate I'm thick as two planks. I just asked what he had done in the professional game. Answer: scored 7 goals in Holland. Where Maceo Rigters managed to score 15 goals. Feel free to believe he is a top professional based on 7 goals. That's your opinion. My opinion is he has proved nothing in the professional game just yet. And still not quite sure why you are trying to belittle how brilliant our forwards are doing. Who have done a lot in the professional game.
No-one cares about Dominic Solanke's record in Youth Games, or for a Chelsea feeder club in Holland, alot more of us are bothered about the fact we have a striker that has no youth caps and has certainly never played abroad (unless you class Scotland as abroad) who's scored nearly 50 goals for us and is bang in form at the moment. If he comes here then I'll support him, if not couldn't give a flying toss because he effects neither my team or the national team.
I gave them directions to Stairfoot roundabout via Cundy Cross and also Doncaster Road, then onto Brampton & Rawmarsh. His 'entourage' were in two cars. The lad himself, along with his family and friends, were extremely polite, friendly and courteous.
I actually did that once. A mate was learning to drive his new Lambretta. He didn't feel confident turning right. I took him on a 25 mile drive which only had left turns in it. He set off by turning left out of his drive, then arrived back home by turning left into it.
