We have courts and laws for a reason. We do not employ police to act as an extra judiciary hit squad whatever the circumstances. If that's the sort of place you want to live move to Colombia. In that I do not defend this bloke who is a criminal but I do not defend the criminal actions of others.

I'd actually heard of him. He was a 'name'. A drugs kingpin in the area, heroin and crack dealer. That's not hearsay. That's fact. I know lads who came into contact with him, sadly.

A year or so ago, another dealer was shot in the face, murdered outside his house in Bradford. It was said to me by the same lads, at my old workplace that it was he who had done it or at least ordered it. Like I say, he had a reputation in Hudds/Bradford.

No idea what occurred at the time he was shot dead, but it's as rare as rocking horse **** that coppers up here fire the gun. I suppose it'll come out eventually.

Race/religion etc is irrelevant to me.

So what exactly is wrong with shooting an armed drug pusher

I don't think it happend like that if you belive the polices account he was asked to put his hands where they could see them he didn't co-operate got shot. And low and behold he had a loaded gun with him...... but don't let me get in the way of the assassination theory.

Im not referring to this case because I know nothing about it Im referring to remarks made about shooting people dead without due trial.

Well no I don't agree with that but if people run around with guns selling drugs and been gangsters you always run the risk of been shot without a trial.

British police hardly ever shoot anybody, most of them don't even carry guns.

is not my way of carrying out law and justice, it's yours but not mine mi owd

What would you propose the police should do if he was going to shoot at them? People like this don't respond to being asked politely. If he showed any lethal intent whatsoever then they had every right to shoot him.

I'll tell thee this Tyrone, I never ever suggested that drug pushing is acceptable and that statement is slandering me and would ask you to retract your post thank you.

of corse they have, that's not my argument, if anyone show's agresion with a gun then shoot him, my argument is what was said in" lets shoot some more", if you agree with that then fair enough.

I don't think anybody is questioning what kind of a person he was but why in a pre planned operation were the police not wearing cameras? That way they can be no doubts at all about what happened during the whole thing as it would have been all on camera. Could they have not shot him somewhere that wouldn't have killed him? Used their pepper spray? Stun gun? Shooting someone dead is an absolute last resort where now the guy in question escapes justice and people not involved in this have to bury a loved one all the same.

Yes maybe asked him nicely if they could not reach for his gun so they could pepper spray him?? Like already been said it's very very rare people get shot by police in England no doubt in my.mind he was a wrong en and reached for his gun so got shot 1st. I've never been shot by police have you? Also the police a human beings at the end of the day I'm sure the person who has shot him did it as a last resort and now has to live with that him self.

If he is talking about violent drug dealers then I do agree. I don't care what their colour or religion is.

The question of body cameras came up on the radio yesterday and the response was that they are not yet general issue for armed officers. They are in the process of modifying them so they can be worn by them and will be part of general issue uniform in the future.

The law though is quite clear , an Officer may only open fire if his , or another's life is in danger . The target is the centre of the torso , shooting to wound is not an option , if the round were to miss or pass through the soft tissues of a leg , it could well carry on and kill or wound someone else up to a mile away .

He wasn't driving according to the news tonight but if the Police suspected he had a gun ( which they obviously did as they were armed) running him off the road with unmarked cars seems a bit of a risky strategy
