Sorry to start a new thread. Just think yesterday highlighted the lack of options we have in certain area's. seeing other clubs do business really early. Wednesday and Huddersfield if you don't want to look out of Yorkshire. Striker, Left back and centre midfielder would be high up for me but that's been needed now for 6 month.
I disagree. I prefer to look over the course of the season, rather than a one-off Cup game. It tells me we're 8th in the table, 4 points from top 6, best midfielder in the Championship and still in the Cup. I think we're doing brilliantly. Midfielder if Morsy doesn't come and a full back, so we can give James Bree a rest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If we manage to keep hold of our current squad and get Morsy back I think we'll only need a decent backup keeper and a left back.
FW: Winnall, Watkins, Bradshaw, Armstrong and Payne. We need more? Can we afford better? Give me a name of someone you think would a) come to Barnsley, b) who we could afford and c) who would be an improvement.
Doubt we will bring a striker in now that we have extended Armstrong's loan - personally I would have let him go back and looked for someone better. Agree on the left back but probably for a different reason to you. Do you think we should sign Morsy or him plus one, or do you mean you think we can do better than him?
I don't want any more loans from Premier League clubs. And we won't get anyone better in any position that we already have.
Ah, Huddersfield, owned by Dean Hoyle, worth about 350 million quid at the last count. No idea why we can't match "the likes of" Huddersfield.
Conon. I think we need 4 in there and a utility player. The latters Scowen for me. I'd like Morsy and another ideally. Are there any players with what Micheal Carrick/ Scott parker style we can attract? Armstrongs our difference at the moment. I think Paynes not quite at it yet. Send him out on loan and gert someone in on loan. Let Tutton go. Wages from them two will allow you to bring in a loan player. Listening to Charlie Adam and Joey Barton a few week ago they said loans cost clubs next to nothing.
Mixed feelings for me as it could mean losing players who have been key to us this season. In an ideal world, no one leaves and a couple of additions such as Sam Morsy and a left back.
Obviously we might need a centre half and midfielder, if the ex-Halifax and ex-Plymouth men leave to go and play in the Premier League. We'll miss the former-Barnet full back as well though, with him playing international football in the ACN.
Lloyd Isgrove, Sam Morsy and a full back and I'd be happy, providing our players remain here. Lloyd Isgrove would give us a much needed boost out wide, with both Hammill and Kent stuggling of late. There must be a reason why we or some other club haven't loaned/bought him this season. Too good to be messing about in a development squad.
I'd bring him in because he's a good player who I believe would fit in perfectly to how we play. He'd boost our options out wide. Besides, if you're classing Kent and Hammill as strictly left wingers, a right winger would make sense would it not?
Watkins, Scowen Janko, Williams and I think Mottley-Henry might get a chance towards the end of the season.
Agree with you re Payne and Tuton (I'd also try and move Jackson and Nyatanga on), but I don't agree with you on Armstrong. It's all about Winnall for me. Doubt we will bring any players in the Carrick mould as we don't have a role for that type of player. The last couple of times we have tried it I thought it was very ineffective.
