I once read that the person who invented traffic lights wanted to call them 'stopandgoes', after the style of 'roundabout'. Can't remember where now, but I recall finding it interesting at the time.
Omg... I know the answer to this one.. Why Is snow white? Because her mum, Hilda Postlethwaite married Bernard White. Their only child, a beautiful little girl.... was born on the only day that year they had snow. So they named her snow. Which is quite interesting. And I've been to 58 pantos with dewarths in them. So I know what I'm on about!.
I used to work for an elevator company and that was quite interesting. .....well, it had its ups and downs.
Did you know, there is a variety of cold-tolerant winter cabbage grown in England known as January King? Interesting. Also, the only Shakespeare plays that mention January are "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Winter’s Tale". Two things that make January even more interesting.
The train originates at Newcastle. I'm not sure of its calling points, as I've only ever caught it at Sheffield, to get to Leamington Spa. The journey from Newcastle takes 5 hours 36 minutes. Funnily enough, you could fly from Newcastle to Amsterdam, visit a coffee shop, and then fly onto Southampton, and catch the train at Southampton Parkway, and still arrive in Poole at the same time.
