Why the Drama? Very strange. We will have to sell to work our way up, it's how we'll have to go. It's a gamble but lets not worry. I think the figures are a start at the moment. Expect them to move up 50% before they are sold. Enjoy the ride
Players like managers come and go. We are still here. Not sure what difference selling or not selling players makes to that.
I'm using him as a name here but Winnall's a Arsenal fan from Wolverhampton. Hourihane's a Celtic fan (I think) from Cork. They don't care about the club like the fans do. It's great watching them help us win but don't expect them to be with us long term. *If they get to play infront of 20k or the chance to do so they will. The club have to use the momentum from these players. I hope the club start and look to move on behind the curtain the fans see. Let's get the money in if it's avadible and move forward. We are in a market sellers position now. buy things for a £1 and sell them for £1.50. Can we move on from that. Because if we can the clubs can go a long way imo. Can we start looking at the 700K players and even a player touching the 1 million mark yet and try and polish him up nicely. If we can that would be getting to the next step. Now i'm not slagging anyone off at the club here or anything. I'm not telling the Cryne Family how to do busines or Linton Brown. It's just the way I see things in my strange way.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...ave-left-club-since-premier-league-promotion/ Southampton do it perfectly
What do you Know? You'd be at Old Trafford every week, if you could afford it. You have every right to state your opinion, but bear in mind, its meaning less and less, to fewer and fewer people. Don't start getting all philosophical, because the best striker we've had this century has one foot out the door. You're going to find people's patience wearing very thin...
HT doesn't like Winnall and isn't bothered about him leaving. He makes a decent point, I suppose, but I personally can't help but see it in those terms.
Selling is not the way to work our way up. It's the way to weaken the team and have to keep doing a rebuilding job.
Why can't we? We don't know who will come in. People were upset when we sold Hammill last time. Not long after we had Vaz Te. The team will change and evolve. It's how it happens. Make profit and invest up. Not mentioned him in this thread and I shouldn't. But if we sell Bre for 5/6 million. Buy a good right back for 1 million and look to develop him. Sign a centre back for 1 million and develop him. and then sign another player to develop for another position in the team. Bank the rest. You aren't going to replace that position but you can make your team better.
Bruce 59 goals in 181 appearances and might have been more if he wasn't offside so often!! Sam 48 in 91. I think on goals per game Sam is edging it. ;-)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...a-trail-by-finding-value-in-players-who-have/ Good article on how Southampton have done it. His pictures in the article. Liverpool sold Torres, and signed two. One of them they sold for 16 million the other for 64 million.
Absolutely no way we will spend £1m on a right back. We will not spend the kind of money it will take to replace Hourihane and Winnall.
