My Wednesday supporting friend is usually pretty clued up , and he thinks the figure is over the million mark...if he is correct it's not bad business with only 21 games left , possibly less with injury or suspensions .

 

Actually I think the problems stem from nobody actually thinking that we'd be in this league this time last year, never mind 8th.

I think the plan was to cash in on Winnall and Hourihane last summer but then we went and got promoted and they and other players' earning capability multiplied substantially, hence we now can't afford to keep them. I'm expecting 3 or 4 others to go this window for this very reason.

Oh and any cash we do get needs to be spent on defenders.

 

Bingo. Player power or just incompetence on the club's behalf, our mettle has been tested and found wanting. It's going to be a long 19 days.

 

You sell him for his proper price or let him rot, I don't care. You don't cave in like a pussy and give him to your rivals. No backbone.

 

As ridiculous as this may sound given my opening gambit, if the figure is actually in excess of a million, as opposed to half a million, whilst it still sticks in the craw, I would at least understand the club ratifying it.

Still disappointing but if it's say £1.5million for less than four months to play when he might get injured

I think (and that's all it is, pure speculation) that he has been more than open to the move.

 

So, you're prepared to have him rot on the bench until the end of the season?

Next you'll be suggesting that he once visited an owl sanctuary.

 

Stick em on gardening leave. Publicly shame them ala poyet. And don't let them near the club.

 

We've openly said that we will not get in the way of players moving on in their career.

Doing this might destroy the trust we have in other players.

Doing this might mean other players are not so inclined to come to a club like Barnsley.
