If the player hasn't requested a transfer in writing, he is entitled to every penny that is remaining of his contract, in addition to his new contract...

Although 99 times out of 100, the player and the selling club settle on a figure in between.

It's why players only put written requests in as a last resort.

I'm trying to find out now. Not that I want to know. Both of us are sat in my front room with a beer waiting for message from Ball.

I hope to hell none of this is true about Conor, Bree and especially Hecky.

To break up a successful team in this way would show a huge lack of ambition of those in charge as others have said.

It makes you wonder about the mindset of those making the decisions when there seemingly is no need to sell, following the transfers of Stones, Mawson, Holgate. Just hope following Winnall's departure that's it and the selling's over.

He can't be under contract to play exclusively for two clubs at the same time. The fee Sheffield Wednesday pay will release him from his contract, making him a free agent, then able to sign exclusively for them.

His contract with us will specify a wage (our contribution) in exchange for him playing games for us (his contribution). If he isn't fulfilling his side (playing for them gits instead) then he isn't in any situation to enforce us to pay him as he isn't fulfilling his side of the bargain.

Granted it's been over ten years since I studied law but I'm pretty certain I'm right here. Perhaps orsenkaht can set the record straight.

The only rule I am aware of concerning written transfer requests is that by doing so, the players agent is not permitted to charge a fee.

So did Birmingham until they fired Rowett and hired Gianfranco about an hour afterwards.

Well I've known quite a few footballers and they all say the same thing but I bow to your greater knowledge.

I think I've mentioned before I have a relative that is a pro, and a few years ago he wanted to move clubs, but his club was rejecting the offers.

I mentioned to him he could put in a transfer request, and he looked at me like I had 2 heads, before explaining that if the club sell him without his "consent"(for want of a better word) he was due the remaining 18 months of his contract on top of any wages and signing fees from his new club.

He went on to explain that this is normal in football, and he knows a few players who unofficially manufacture moves regular and have made a small fortune from it.

No I haven't heard anything about Hecky i'm just saying it isn't as black and white as what you meant fella. Just because they have one it doesn't mean a thing in football.

In regards to Conor he's been to talk to Sheff Wed already. I suspect it's dragging out because either he wants a Prem team or a Newcastle/Brighton who look like Prem teams already to come in and offer the wages he wants or Sheff Wed are a bit hesitant to pay him what he wants as it's his first season in this league.

We all know he would be worth it though so hopefully they don't and he stays.
