Hecky latest interview saying “we have been caught on the hop” regarding transfers

    Wrong...............NO THEY HAVENT !!!

The mis-management of players contracts has been on going ever since Patrick Cryne walked through the door at Oakwell.
    That’s 10 long years

How many millions upon millions of pounds has this owner thrown away because he didn’t have a grip or understanding on players contracts or the worth of a player ???
Barnsley should be a very wealthy club if we had someone at the club who had any understanding of investing in players.
Just one of dozens of examples is Drinkwater for 1 million. How much would he be worth now?

We now have a situation where Hecky and the backroom staff have worked their b.allocks off to get players up to speed and build an exciting Championship team – only to find someone at the club has failed to nail these players down.
Now I realise that coming out of the 1st Division we cannot throw money at these players because no one knows how good they are likely to be in the Championship.
But like Hourahane says about contracts – something should have been done in the summer i.e. relatively small increase in salary and extended contract for a year.

Then if Winnall and Hourahane had made the grade in the Championship they could be sold in this January window and instead of £1.5 million for the pair Barnsley could be looking at £12 MILLION for the pair.
Someone at the club needs sacking for this incompetence.

    THICK THICK THICK

PS – don’t shoot the messenger because these are not only my views

What I'm saying is that someone at the club has to get a hold on this.
Millions and millions is leaving the club because there is no one at the club with any knowledge of contracts or value of a player.

Didn't you post the exact same thing yesterday.

Bit worried about you as you seem to keep repeating yourself. The more you say it, it doesn't get any more indiotic.

We have a very different board to the one 10 years ago. I would put together a sensible reply to your post, but you really are too numb in the void between your ears to understand anything other than your own opinion.

You call our directors Thick? The ones who have helped get us to 8th in the championship. And you don't know what the fee is do you. Are you too THICK to understand why we aren't broadcasting how much money we have got given we are in negotiations for players? Are you really really really that THICK to not get that. Genuinely? Can you actually be THAT THICK. Honestly. Is there a human being on this planet who is that THICK they don't understand it?

By the way...............I'm a company director myself

I employ professional people ........most of them with PhD and MSc.

I know what I'm saying here when I talk about retaining good employees.

I don't want to see Barnsley Football Club just poddling along...........I want to see something built on and off the field year on year.

Since PC saved the club - we have been stuck in limbo neither going forward, backwards or sideways

Just enough to realise that there's a good chance Patrick Cryne and Maurice Watkins are fully aware of all the issues you've outlined . I'm sure Watkins picked up a thing or two during his 28 years on the board at Manchester United .

I wouldn't say incompetence at all. Without their support / backing we wouldn't have the team as is. Maybe a slight miscalcualtion on not offering new contracts following our promotion but if we had flopped this season because the players weren't up to the championship, people would have moaned saying why did we offer them a new deal.. It's a 50-50 call in my opinion. Who is to say the players that come in to replace any outgoing ones won't share the same hunger as we have seen. Look at the flip side of Wednesday. They are bringing in these new players, who is to say they will gel to their way of playing or perhaps upset the applecart by causing discontent with their current squad because they have been dropped.. If they create a poor team spirit, nothing to say they drop down the division and our crop of players pull together work hard and sneak into the top 6. Nothing is out of the question. I'm pissed that Sam left and potentially Conor but in the end I'm a BFC fan so look to what the future may hold.

Not as much experience as Nudger has in running multi million pound football clubs. It's easy to ward of interest without financially crippling our club. Nudger could do it.

........MDG.........you say.........'I wouldn't say incompetence at all. Without their support / backing we wouldn't have the team as is'

And in that statement you have identified the problem.
Many Barnsley fans fully understand that I am making a very valid point here..........however, many wont say anything because they are so thankful that PC saved the club.
In my opinion we need to honour Patrick Cryne for doing that...........but we also need to move on and start building a better club

NUDGER..I don't mean the bit about saving us from going out of business. I am referring to their brave approach in terms of the recruitment policy, backing the managers and visions. It took a lot of courage to move away from the way we were operating, buying players looking for their last paydays but with no heart to really play for the club. We can replace players..

Are you saying we should have got more for Drinkwater? Even though he wasn't ours to sell?

.............but anyone looking from the outside........would say the club is being run as a rich mans hobby and NOT a business.

Patrick Cryne has put millions in to keep us afloat. Not as a "Hobby" but as he saw it as his duty. Not to make money. Christ he hasn't made anything! He's not enjoyed it, but thank god he has.

You just have rocks behind your eyes. Although at least rocks have a purpose sometimes.
