I think the half that we do know (that he plays for Wednesday) is enough really.

No amount of other info will redeem him in my mind.

Winnall's dads right, people don't know the whole story.

They don't know that Sam was negotiating a contract with Sheff Wednesday the week of our game against them.

They don't know that Sam had a blazing row with Linton Brown & told him how **** Barnsley's fans were.

They don't know that Sam was a right **** to staff at the club & he won't be missed by any of the non-playing staff.

From what I've been told the clubs a lot better off without him.

What was the argument about? Interesting if true as Linton then left the same day.

Hecky has said in interviews that he likes Sam as a person, not sure why he would voluntarily say that if not true?

Might be a bit like Shackell...I remember someone being interviewed ( possibly The Don ) about how the players had taken the transfer ...he said
words to the effect of the dressing room is a much happier place .

I can't sit here & say it's 100% true because its not first hand from me.

All I can say is it's from someone I trust & when he tells me something has happened or something is about to be announced he's never been wrong.

It was over Brown refusing to sell him.

He might well have been liked by Hecky & his team mates, I don't know.

I got told staff in club shop, media, physios etc didn't like him as he was a right pain in the arse to deal with.

That fits in with Linton leaving if he didn't agree with being forced to sell players against his wishes. There's not much point being a CEO and not getting a say and yet having to take all the stick.

I should probably keep my gob shut but when his Dad's making cryptic comments as if Sam's been hard done to people ought to know the real Sam Winnall

If Linton didn't like Winnall then Sam leaving should have made Linton more likely to stay and not leave also surely....I don't see any playing staff wishing him the best on social media. I wonder if they have been told not to or his team mates weren't that keen on him.

I just got told that Linton Brown was against the transfer, not sure whether it was because it was Sheff Wednesday, the terms of the deal or a combination of both.

I'd put 2 & 2 together & guess he thinks he should've made the decision as chief exec & is pissed off at been over ruled?

That's my reading of the situation. The rug was pulled from under Linton, after he'd already done some negotiating for the Conor deal and he thought it undermined him and made him look silly.
