Not sure how we've let this happen after seemingly being in a strong position to get him signed up permanently
their Powers that be put down a respectable contract, didn't try to get him on the cheap, they upped his wages so he signed. Cheers Linton. At least their fans are staying classy - oh wait. Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan laughing at us isn't particularly nice. Especially when Wigan are 23rd in the league
He was clearly on more at Wigan than we could afford. Just need to find a replacement now. Wish Sam all the best, as he gave his all when with us
But if he was on more than we could afford, why did we EVER have an agreement in place to sign him after his loan?? Trying to stay positive here but I can only assume our ambition doesn't match his. Which I am trying not to equate to .......... he's gone cos he knows Conor is moving on. Hope the wheels aren't falling off. PH was confident it would be sorted :-(
I'm actually more gutted at this than Winnall, not sure what's happened here but I really thought this was almost over the line.
Wigan are skint and heading for division 1, what's that say about us? Maybe Linton should have been much quicker?
Agreed. I really thought he was a vital cog. Am down in the dumps now. Tried to stay positive for a week but its getting harder :-( I even had a post prepared along the lines of 'Sam is dead ..... long live Sam'. Oh well.
I thought this minght happen we signed him on loan when Calderwood didn't want him. They cut the loan short because Warren Joyce wanted to see what he could do he has impressed. They have offered him a new deal he was all ready on decent money more than we were willing to give. Don't know how wigan do it cheaper season tickets than us smaller gates and paying bigger wages be in a pickle if they go down.
Really, really not good! Also annoyed after all the talk from him about playing for a contract here etc. I can see why he'd rather stay at a club where he already is and who will pay more but it still hurts.
This is exactly what we said mate. Surely his wages would have been discussed at the time of taking him on loan with an option to buy? It just doesn't make any sense. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Wouldnt put it past wigan seeing us as relegation fodder if we are unable to hold our squad together,i always doubted that they were willing to give morsey up,especially to us.
