But we were warned this is the way we would go, develope the players sell them on at a profit. If the team stagnates so what.
But we weren't warned we were going to sell out entire team in one go if reports are to be believed. Miles difference between losing players who was only given a 6 month contract or a loan player and short termism, than creating the problems ourselves by accepting every bid coming in. We should only be looking to sell and replace one or 2 every window. Not rebuild a team every window because we get offers. I bought into the strategy and agree with it but not if we sell everything including the left over biscuits
But maximising value as part of said strategy dictates that we have to sell when players are at the sweet spot between a good length of contract and form. Given how well we have done some are closer to that sweet spot (Roberts, MacDonald) than others (Winnall, Houriane, Watkins, Scowen)
I thought the policy was to allow players to go as and when suitable replacements were ready to step into their shoes. It's the 'suitable replacements' bit that is the worrying factor.
He's definitely a Wednesday fan, a mate used to play with him & said he used to wear Wednesday gear when they were training
So at what point does that strategy be put on hold for a few months. That we have made so much recently and "don't need to sell" That we risk the total down turn in the club. Do we have no intermediate plan based on those events. Or we just going to sell everything that moves and deal with the consequences after. After all the club also stated it had every eventuality covered for player sales. Seems not at this stage
What has clearly had a negative effect is the apparent lack of day to day control and lack of control of inoming transfers. Now Hecky is having to do the work of 3 people...
Definitely a victim of our own success in that so many players have stepped up effortlessly from lower or even non league. We even lost a few good players in Isgrove, Mawson and Brownhill from last season without breaking tried but even the most optimistic person must now be concerned that we might be losing some more in one go. 12 months good work possibly ruined in the window? Get to f*ck I'm absolutely sick of this excuse, can't wait to spend the rest of the season chanting as the big pile of £3m darting up the wing as it passes it to a pile of £500k in the middle of the pitch, knocks it back to £3.5m at CB who hoofs it up to.. is it? it is! the pile of £500k up front has got onto it somehow and knocks it in!!! What we need is F*cking consistency and players I don't support a small pile of money.
