He's gone, said its impossible not to have head turned by a club like villa. Good luck to him though, been thoroughly professional (snake should take note), a great leader and best player i've seen in a barnsley shirt period. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If he goes to Villa he will still be in the Championship next season and with their squad could be the season after. We are only 4 points off the play offs with a bunch of players with a a never say die attitude. We could even be promoted, stranger thing have happened in football. If I was him I would stay with the club with a chance of promotion rather than signing for a Club who are lower than us in the league.
After listening to Hecky interview, I reckon its upto Conner to say he wants to go, I don,t think we will accept a bid for him , but if he said he wanted to leave like Sam did , then we would shake his hand and thank him for last couple of seasons. The result today could help him stay IMO lets hope so
It didn't seem like a goodbye today at the end. Doesn't mean he won't leave, but I think he may want to see the season through & see what happens.
I agree that there is a good chance that he will see the season through for the perceived big wage from certain teams on a free transfer. However, aren't Celtic classed as a foreign team, which mans that they can legally approach him now with a pre contract agreement, possibly usurping any English team. Also I belive that Plymouth are due a sell on clause on any transfer which may make us hesitant to accept an offer, especially if Connor hasn't requested a transfer as we would also be liable for any remains of a signing on fee from his signing.
If Villa were flying near the top of the table or in the promotion places, it would be a no-brainer. But they're not, which might be the fly in the ointment as Conor could get a gig at a Premier club next year (maybe with us lol)
ignore this. Just seen C5 interview. Bye Conor, will leave as a hero, unlike Sammy Sheffield Wednesday, who signed for Wednesday on a the day true hero's funeral, after kissing the black armband days before. COYR great performance today. Kent & Conor's goals class.
Not saying the wages aren't a factor, but they're not top of his list of reasons for going, unlike that other player. Conor wants a bigger stage. Bigger than us, bigger than Villa or the Fritzls, who will both be toiling in this division for a couple of seasons yet. But a young man, in a career that could end in the next game, or even in training on Monday..... he can't ignore the rumoured salary on offer. Fair play. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
