I apologise sincerely. Thought he wasn't up to it originally, but now, he's as cool as Futch; better than Roberts.

Funny old game, opinions and all that. I thought he was good second half but absolutely shocking for a fifteen minute period first half. Lost Chris wood marking him from corners three or four times, including the goal.

Possibly harsh, wood is a great forward, but I though his marking was poor and the only negative of the night other than mr dean

That's problem when you judge a player after one or two games.

You're right about the goal, it was Gus who lost Woods from the corner but I thought he got better as the half went on and in the second half he looked a very tidy championship defender.

Thought he struggled with Woods but a lot of defenders do. He looked shaky at first for me when he came into the team but keeps improving.

^ this he is a steal at that price and only going to get better only we could replace a 6 million pound defender with a 100k non league lad and it come off

McDonald was blocked off deliberately by other Leeds players in a set piece, and that's why he lost Woods for the goal and the goal line clearance. Yes, McDonald was niave perhaps in allowing it to happen but he did improve.

Struggled against wood but he won't be the first or last. He will do for me as he's clearly improving and trying as hard as he can every time he puts the shirt on

When you look how many Wood has scored in this division so many defenders struggle with him. For a young lad new to this division was going to be hard. He'll not play against this type of player every week and agree in the first half was found out. Credit to the lad worked hard and got better. Big learning night and quality of Gus came through that he did get better. Will have learned so much on the night and with video and training management as to where he should have been etc will develop the lad so much. Top lad and player going to be a real player when fully developed

I think he's ok but getting better by the match. My problem (and it is my problem not his) is that I'd heard we were buying a hard man, a ball winner, a stopper and he's not really that. His touch is much better than I expected. He's reasonably quick, but he's not physically commanding and he's been bullied by a couple of beast centre forwards, Woods being the latest. He wins headers but doesn't get huge distance on them. A work in progress and as someone else stated an absolute steal at £100k,

Our best cb for me, strong and composed, good on the ball, the archetypal Barnsley cb. Definitely see him stepping up to prem footy at some point.

Poor for their goal but it was well worked. Why was Macdonald the one given the responsibility to mark Wood though..? Says a lot about the lad.

Had a chance to score too. Should have probably worked Green more with the header.

He's actually not that good at heading. He wins the header (good) but gets little purchase on it (bad). Something to work on and he strikes me as being a quick learner.

Yes, seems a top lad. He's doing a 300 mile cycle ride for epilepsy charity - his sister is a sufferer.
