He's a Barnsley based Leeds fan and goes all over watching them and you can actually have a proper talk about the game without having to cut through the we are massive crap. Anyway,as he and his missis got through the turnstiles they approached a steward and showed him their tickets to which the steward replied I ent got a Feckin clue where your sears are .it's my first match. Then he talked to someone else who'd claimed he'd paid £20 at the turnstile and this guy said loads had done the same. As I have already said this guy at work isn't a bullshitter or mischief maker, should this be true then action needs to be taken, we don't want a situation that's remotely anything like the Hillsbro' tragedy. I felt there was considerably more than the 5200ish that was announced over the PA.
In fairness to the steward. It appears. That the leeds fans showed very regard to the appropriate allocated seat #
No I Haven't, basically because I have no proof and it'll probably get read by someone connected with the club Anyway.
A crowd safety steward not knowing gangways etc is very worrying irrespective of people not sitting where they're supposed to sit.
So they all turned knowing they would be able to pay 20 quid on the gate.... they looked more because they were all stood I'm the gangways.... if you listen to leeds fans they was 8k in the away end and another 5k who bought tickets in home end and it was our cup final also (even though more home fans came to the Rotherham, reading, villa and newcastle games) a pinch of salt is needed with all leeds fans
I guess it depends on the context of the conversation, if it was orderly. It looked absolute mayhem. Is say they needed a medal as big as a dustbin lid
well with all due respect too you its a pointless post this, there was 5241 leeds fans there , front rows blocked off as normal , if your not going to inform the club even in a informal phone call of what you have said on here , whats the point
As Supporter Liaison Officer, i can confirm that there were 9 turnstiles for Leeds Fans. Each turnstile had an operator, each turnstile has a full height gate and had a home steward outside each turnstile. In addition, Leeds bring some of their own stewards and had one on the inside of each turnstile. On that basis any fan trying to gain entry without a ticket would have to involve the three staff on each turnstile and gain entry without the turnstile opening? CCTV is also on the turnstiles to assist the Police and safety officers. This also probably covers the point where the steward didn't know where the fans seat was, as he would have probably been from Leeds. However, the club does value any points/ queries so please fans, carry on passing on things you may have seen, particularly anybody causing problems in the ground.
Thanks for that Bondy, I'll mention this to him at work tomorrow. So this proves my post wasn't pointless, and although my workmate told me what he did in good faith, there appears to be nothing to be too concerned about.
I think some of the stewards had been drafted in from Leeds. When I was on the tour of the ground at about 3pm there was a Leeds contingent in the tour and a few of the stewards started doing the Leeds Leeds Leeds pounding chest routine in the away end.
