He's got to put up with Yiadom next month. In all seriousness though, if we could afford to flog anyone it would be Bree. We have Yiadom and now Jones, as well as White on the other side. And with him going to Villa rather than a Man City level club it could mean we have a decent sell on in a few years if he continues to progress. With a bit of luck City will buy him for 25million in 2020 and we'll get 20 percent or summat.
Didn't he say last week that Hourihane was linked with fish pond teams, whilst Bree was linked with likes of Man City etc etc
Fish pond teams, never mind not saying it, it's something i've never heard of in my life. With Bree, like I said the other day he's a little bit different to the other players. He seems to want to play first team football rather than devleop in training. He'll be going to a club like Villa with a plan to bounce to better things in a couple of year time. Hourihane, I don't see him going much further on up the ladder than what Villa do. The figures that are been put out are very good for Hourihane but quite low for Bree. 3 million mark for both. I'd expact a lot of clauses for in Bree's deal for when he moves in the future plus promotion ect.
Hourihane is far better than mid table Aston Villa and he will be a premier league player before too long.
Hourihanes reaching a peak now. It's very different in the Prem and he could get hustled. Villa won't be planning on been in this league much longer. 18 month max and they will want out and I can see that happening. Listening to Talksport tonight and Karl Robinson asked Lookman what the biggest difference was. He was told the speed and intensity.
Did you see Bree letting his man go in the last minute v Leeds. Standing, ball watching. He should have scored. He won't get many chances at a higher level doing that.
I thought he looked good actually Fired. He's a good size for a full back and even though he's naturally right footed it didn't bother him going around Kent for the over lap which inturn allows him to move inside more and get in them between positions that he scored from. Why people say that a full back been on the wrongs side an excuse for him not to get arounds annoys me and Gethin showed it's very possible. If Bree leaves I'd like to see PH bring in a natural left footer in and Gethin's looked very capable of been our first choice right back from what I seen. I don't think he's left a club like Everton without a clear plan to play at Oakwell.
You said "But then you have the smaller fish in the pond and good clubs are looking at these. Roberts, Hourihane and Macdonald I even notice something about" This was after you said Bree was linked with big clubs like Man City etc etc
I think you'll find that i've never heard or seen ''fish pond teams''. I did refer to the PLAYERS in that way which is a normal phrase in sports. I actually did a thread about Bree and covering a lot of what I thought about him and comparing to another former Barnsley player Jack Butland and saying why I thught the likes of the champ teams had a chance with him. Butland turned down Chelsea and Manchester City whilst at Birmingham and signed for Stokes because he thought he would become number one at Stoke quite quickly. It didn't happen that way in the end and he ended up at Barnsley, Leeds and Derby onloan. In the end for Bree I think a move to a club like Villa's all about a large sell on with clauses for promotion and youth England appearances. I wish I just pressed post rather than deleteing it and took the stick I would have.
Ya basically saying Hourihane is "fish in a pond" where Bree is 20 times better Ask any Villa fan ,even any championship supporting club fan who they would rather have and 95% would say Hourihane.
Ask Everton fans who they wanted John Stones or Leroy Fer They were very disappointed when that Transfer window shut. we thought we were signing Leroy Fer and we only got some guy called Stones from Barnsley. What's all that about Moysey. I'm sure Everton fans weren't that overjoyed when they signed Holgate. Give it 12 months and they will be thinking. How long can we keep this player for. Ask the top clubs who they are coming to see, that will tell you a lot more than Fans that only really watch one team.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...on-and-Kyle-Walker-from-Sheffield-United.html When two players move from one club to another. Reading that and with them sending Walker out on loan back to Sheffield United it looks like Naughton would have been the player the spurs fans were more excited about. Few years on that will have changed massively.
I've watched Barnsley for 50 years. Conor Hourihane is one of the finest, most influential players to have pulled on a red shirt in that time. Thankfully 99.9 percent of people on here acknowledge that fact too as opposed to your constant criticisms and downplaying of his abilities. It's frankly pathetic.
Even Sky Sports pundits, commentators said scouts we're mainly there to watch Hourihane, never heard Bree mentioned. And Everton/Stones/Leroy Fee has nothing to do with this.
I'm not down playing anything. I'm saying will he reach the heights that the likes of others have? Look at the players the club have had either on loan or permanent in the last 5 years or so. Drinkwater, Stones, Holgate, Butland, Rodriguez Or will he be a Butterfield Vaz te, Hammill JCR Shotton
